The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

title should be "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006)"
"Game of the Year Edition" part is unnecessary, really

"(2009)" part simply misleading, since GOTY Edition released in 2007, actually

please correct title

At least it didn't get black and white like Age of Empires II HD And Age of Mythology: Extended Edition. Those are awful now.

Bro, you're complaining about an icon and he pointed that out.
reading comprehension please. title, not icon. and im just asking to revert unnecessary change, not to do something extra. feedback about updates(any) doesnt hurt.

its ok to dont care about how your library looks. but why then bother those who care? and even insulting.

Yeah, it's an eyesore now.
it used to match the other Elder Scrolls titles and now it doesn't..
Just like all the other rereleases instead of just naming it something like that they instead rename the original that has been like that for literal decades, makes no sense..

yeah. i could understand when, for example, Resident Evil 4 released remake with exactly same name. but here they have "Remastered" title. its already here, so why its hard to have just

"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion"
and
"The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered"

instead...
Ya they did this for Resident Evil games, the Final Fantasies after those lazy Pixel Remasters
and now they doing this for Elder Scrolls.

These bums do not realise this isn't new, this is an ongoing problem.

whats make it worse is "Game of the Year Edition" part, which is also unnecessary and (2009) part simply misleading. all DLCs and GOTY released in 2007 actually

if it would be just "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006)" like capcom did with Resident Evil 4 (2005), it would be okay at very least.

As far as I know, this is actually the "Deluxe" version of the Game of the Year Edition, and was indeed released in 2009, not 2007. I think it was later merged with the "standard" Game of the Year Edition.

BTW, I wished I had your problems. 😋
Yeah, at one point I by accident purchased the wrong one, and at the time, Steam actually downgraded the one I had missing out on the Downloadable DLCs which were not part of Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine. You can check uesp.net for some info on the DLCs like I believe Spell Tomes and the Fighter's Stronghold which were not originally in the none GOTY Deluxe Edition. This was actually a problem with Bethesda playing games with the actual naming versus the various Physical Editions -- and ripping people off.

I guess enough complaints happened, and there were even some ways to freely download the other DLCs at some magazine sights or Bethesda's own website, and so they finally corrected the Steam issues and so on. But the point is, I remember this ticking me off, and began my leaning negative towards Bethesda with at least skepticism.

So perhaps the Year can be partly defended, although this whole store page has issues with its naming, but Voland is definitely right that they ought to clean up the whole store page and just stick with one standard name.

Not going to mention how it seems rather unfair that one doesn't even get a small discount for buying this with the Remastered Version. They just don't get it at Bethesda, imho and all that jazz.

Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion, the Moddable Version for the People.

New Version:
The Elder Scrolls 4 Snob version for rich folk too stupid and lazy to mod.
I'm actually getting ready to maybe look into some basic feature mods for this vintage Oblivion. Main things I'd be interested in are probably:

-- Leveling Up Changes, where minor and major skills don't effect attributes in the original way, not crucial, but I know there were several good ones.

-- Maybe some minor combat feature changes, perhaps for stagger effects etc.

-- Maybe some slight Stealth or Crime Reporting changes, but probably not too crucial.

-- And maybe some decent model changes

-- Oh and yeah something to make the Oblivion areas less repetitive and more immersive

-- Maybe some loot reduction in amount, but a bit more variety, but that isn't key either.

But it isn't really crucial. I just know they used to exist, I'll just have to get back up to speed.
