The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Will I get the remaster for free or at least at a discount?
I got the GOTY edition and I remember Skyrim SE was added to my library automatically because I had the standard edition for steam I got when the xbox 360 was still a thing

I got Skyrim SE automatically too, but I don't think this will work that way. For one thing, it is a full remake in a new engine, with updated mechanics, not just an update. For another, it has been made by a different studio, not Bethesda. We're gonna have to buy it folks...

Yes, that is definitely asked WAY too much.
This is certainly a different scenario, Skyrim Special Edition was the same game, same engine, same mods just with the gameworks dll added to add godrays to the game, bethesda knew they couldn't charge pc gamers for that so they made it free. It was more for consoles to port the game from the previous generation to the current generation.

This time the oblivion remaster has a much greater distance from the original, 3 generations and a completely new engine, new assets, 120gb of data if the rumors are true, a lot of work went into it and bethesda and virtuous wants to get paid for that. They wont make it free.

I am going to guess it won't be less than $40. Probably higher tho. Doesn't really matter. I am in up to $100 to replay this updated version.
