The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Oblivion Remake
What's people though's on the official remake that might come out this year? If it even exists which I think it does.
I'm about even on it, has a lot of chance to improve, but also a lot to make it worse.

I think it doesn't exist, and on the low chance that it does exist, it'll just be a lazy port made for consoles, the PC version running at highest settings, maybe with 4k support.

Certainly won't be a remake running on Unreal Engine and featuring soulslike combat, and whatever else the ''leaks'' said.
If its an equivalent to Skyrim Special Edition, it will be good......but you'll have to wait for mods. It will be nice to have proper controller support without mods and who knows, maybe they'll make it easy to mod and create for it. Then it would be cool.
who knows though, and don't hold your breath for it....
I'm looking forward to nothing but Skyblivion this year. I'm expecting it'll blow even Elder Scrolls 6 out of the water.
Am looking forward to it and hope they make things like the city walls much more detailed and with a certain massiveness to them in the way they were in DAGGERFALL where i actually felt safe entering past the city walls. Oh and hoping for more realistic faces with fine facial features similar to SKYRIM or STARFIELD instead of the DAVEY & GOLIATH playdoh faces of many of the characters.

I'll never bother since too many of my mods will never get ported to it. I will be getting in on Skyblivion though. I never cared much for Skyrim, but I'd 100% love to play Oblivion but with Skyrims systems and textures.

Well, there is still a tiny chance it will pop up out of nowhere. But I think if they were planning on releasing it, they would announce it this month at Microsoft's recent game showcase...

Is this game even worth buying even if heavily discounted when the remake is rumoured to be out very soon?

If you have any interest in playing the Skyblivion mod that's purportedly coming out some time this year then I'd pick it up on sale if I were you.

"SKYBLIVION will be 100% FREE, but in order to play, we require our users to own both Skyrim: Special Edition and Oblivion including the DLCs. Without these requirements our installer will not install the mod."

It'll probably come out on Game pass, which means I'll probably at least try it out on my Xbox. I don't see the need to get it on PC, tho. I already have the GOTY edition on the original. I also have the GOTY edition physically for Xbox but it's missing all the little DLC packs that came out, so I might buy it if it's good when it goes on sale.

I never understood why the PC releases always got everything in their GOTY editions but console version were always missing parts of it.

I loved Oblivion first time around stutters and all, so looking forward to the remake. Just hope it is not online only, as I avoid them like the plague.
