OG or Remaster?
Personally Im more so leaning towards the original one. I dont think Bethesda is gonna do great with a remaster for Oblivion if they dont have hope for the Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5. Now I dont really care about the remake, im just more so afraid Bethesda will go down the same route Rockstar did with their GTA games.

But aside that, are you Pro OG or Pro Remaster?

The remake/remaster is just a rumor as of right now, no confirmation yet. From what I saw Virtuos games studio is behind the development of the supposedly remake of oblivion not Bethesda. If the remake is just oblivion with bug fixes, graphics, performance fixes, and updated UI then I would support the remake.

Let's see Virtuos Studios...

Outer Worlds Spacer's Choice Editon
Batman: Returrn to Arkham Asylum
Assassin's Creed Ezio Trilogy
Oh...
If that is true that they're leading the remaster, they don't have the best track record when it comes to remastering...
They've done some good ports of games to PC, some bad ports to Switch(kinda expected tbh, some of the games they tried to get running on Switch were just ridiculous), and they've also done development on a bunch of shovelware titles, like The Price is Right for PS4/5

As for OPs question, gonna have to wait and see, but I think sticking with the OG is probably the best choice, unless it's a "capture lightning in a bottle" situation.

Yeah if it's them doing it, this all but confirms it's just a simple remaster that's the same game but released on new consoles. Not a remake like people are deluding themselves into believing

Not an actual choice

Have to wait and see. I'm cautiously optimistic about remaster. In the worst case we still have the OG version.

Remaster of Oblivion is more a good deal than all sh1tt1 RPG of the last 5 years.

OG or remaster?

I'm gonna go with the one that exists.

This one I have no intrest in skyblivion or a Remaster.
The graphics and eviroment add to the charm and the world.
When i look at Skyblivion it just isn't the same as normal oblivion it looks like it lost all the charm this one has.

The graphics of oblivion actually add to this games charm there no game like Elder Scrolls Oblivion and that's partly due to the graphics and world eviroment.
It almost feels like its not part of the elder scrolls universe and its own stand alone universe in game tone.

Anywho, just my thought and such, but ya...im just sticking to this one. I always seem to come back to this game its like a home away from home for me.
Playing this game therapeutic feeling to me when i play.
I just can't see my self playing a Remaster or Skyblivion ever.

If it is just graphics, then I see no reason for buing a remake. The OG graphics fit the game great. It is not meant to be photographical in any way. More like how people look in art from the 15-1600:s (wich of course is even more enhanced in a certain quest concerning an oil painting...).

But if they add sprint it might be worth some cash ;)

Unreal Engine 5. Keep your expectations low, especially since there is no mod support.

The leak says it's in oblivions default engine and utilizes ue5. So it's likely ue5 engine is only to render graphics or something.
