The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Resolution
I tried setting the resolution to 1920x1080, then when I go to restart the game like it tells me to, it's back to the default.

Go to the folder where you installed the game. Find the Oblivion_default.ini
Open it and find the values for iSize W= , iSize H= . Change the values to what you want your resolution to be. In this case iSize W=1920 , iSize H=1080

Set the resolution in the ini file and save it. Right click it, properties, check the read only box, apply, ok. Launcher and game cant change it back after that.

How do you enable Window mode? Been trying to figure this out. The game does NOT like alt-tabbing.

None of these fixes work for me. I have little hope of anyone responding to this though because this thread is 3 years old now. But if on the off chance someone does it would be greatly appreciated.

many other posts about this. when the game cannot read the .ini files the launcher creates, it uses the default .ini settings from 2008 when the game was released
bFull Screen=1
iSize W=640
iSize H=480

go to folder Documents\My Games\Oblivion
should contain files BlendSettings.ini Oblivion.ini RendererInfo.txt

files missing?
check antivirus log? might be blocking game/game launcher.

check windows security/controlled folder access.
if on add exceptions for game launcher/game.

check windows event viewer and also windows reliability history.
might be a game crash event or system related problems.

running Windows One Drive? look in the one drive folder for your .ini files.
I do not use one drive so cannot not offer advice.
windows one drive was released in 2007. VERY many websites with
tutorials/manuals/movies/youtube videos written by experts devoted to
One Drive/synching files/using steam, etc.

if the files are there and do not contain the correct settings,
perhaps uninstall/clean install graphics card driver.

if the files are there and do contain the correct settings,
game is not reading the files
