How Can I use the OBSE
Well I'll try to use OBSE but when I started I get a message saying I need to activate the game from the Steam community but when I check If I have enable that I see it activated.

So someone know how can I fixed that?

How can I explain this OBSE when used with a Disc version of Oblivion requires you to run the executable version of itself to be enable in game, when using the steam version you just run the games executable and the DLL file from OBSE install takes over and enables it.

you can check this for either variation by opening the console with ~ symbol key left of 1 key on a QWERTY keyboard then type (without the quotes) "GetOBSEVersion" and then enter if it's enable it will return a blank line ( don't know why OBSE does this as the other Script Extenders return the version number).

I hope this helps.

put the latest version in your Oblivion folder and run obse.exe to start the game instead of Oblivion.exe.

Follow the specific Steam OBSE install instructions in the readme that comes with the OBSE download.

My OBSE was working just fine until yesterday (using the steam version) but I run it through Mod Organizer 2.

Now all of a sudden it says it can't find OBSE which of course in my heavily modded Oblivion is causing all sorts of havoc.

So I uninstalled then reinstalled OBSE...for steam...and now just using the Oblivion...AKA through Steam...it begins to load and then crashes to Desktop w/o warning.

When I run it through Mod Organizer it's still telling me that OBSE isn't even installed.

What the heck?!

did you copy the required files to your oblivion directory? there is no installation of obse other than moving the required files to your oblivion folder...unpacked if I remember correctly

-Also rpgfan411 gave most excellent advice.

Yes it's installed correctly as it was previously...got it to load toe the menu screen through steam and OBSE seems to be working.

Will try again through MO2.

If I were you I would not use MO2...steam will take care of everything. Have you tried wrye bash? Also run the steam obse.exe as an administrator.
Also note steam overlay must be working when using the obse steam version.

Okay...sure...however all of my mods etc are installed in M02...and I had zero issues with it and steam behaving correctly until yesterday.

So you're saying that I'll have to re-download...and re-install all those mods or activate them through steam?

They're not even an option in my data files.

Its been a long time brother. Do whatever works for you. Because Wrye bash, though the best for Oblivion is a lot harder to learn.

Well actually, its just that there are a ton of options you will probably never use and it is confusing at first. WB merges mods and makes them play nice..but tedious at first.

Tell me about it I can't even figure out how to make it install anything. It's supposed to create and oblivion mods folder...with two folders inside that when I click on installers for the first time.

And it hasn't done that.

We'll see. I was having no problems with MO2...actually OBSE until yesterday.

I currently use MO2 for oblivion and noticed that I actually had to use the OBSE launcher in MO2 to get OBSE to work through it, without MO2 you launch the game through steam normally and OBSE will run.

I got OBSE correctly installed in steam now...but now my both my Mod lists through Mod Organizer...keep crashing before the opening cinematic even begins...lol go fig!

So in one of my lists I unchecked everything but the needed files...and it still crashed.

So now i manually installed a few of the mods directly into the Data folder that OBSE overwrote...and I'm activating them one a a time to check that it loads.
