you can check this for either variation by opening the console with ~ symbol key left of 1 key on a QWERTY keyboard then type (without the quotes) "GetOBSEVersion" and then enter if it's enable it will return a blank line ( don't know why OBSE does this as the other Script Extenders return the version number).
I hope this helps.
Now all of a sudden it says it can't find OBSE which of course in my heavily modded Oblivion is causing all sorts of havoc.
So I uninstalled then reinstalled OBSE...for steam...and now just using the Oblivion...AKA through Steam...it begins to load and then crashes to Desktop w/o warning.
When I run it through Mod Organizer it's still telling me that OBSE isn't even installed.
What the heck?!
-Also rpgfan411 gave most excellent advice.
Will try again through MO2.
Also note steam overlay must be working when using the obse steam version.
Okay...sure...however all of my mods etc are installed in M02...and I had zero issues with it and steam behaving correctly until yesterday.
So you're saying that I'll have to re-download...and re-install all those mods or activate them through steam?
They're not even an option in my data files.
Well actually, its just that there are a ton of options you will probably never use and it is confusing at first. WB merges mods and makes them play nice..but tedious at first.
Tell me about it I can't even figure out how to make it install anything. It's supposed to create and oblivion mods folder...with two folders inside that when I click on installers for the first time.
And it hasn't done that.
We'll see. I was having no problems with MO2...actually OBSE until yesterday.
I currently use MO2 for oblivion and noticed that I actually had to use the OBSE launcher in MO2 to get OBSE to work through it, without MO2 you launch the game through steam normally and OBSE will run.
So in one of my lists I unchecked everything but the needed files...and it still crashed.
So now i manually installed a few of the mods directly into the Data folder that OBSE overwrote...and I'm activating them one a a time to check that it loads.
