The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

is Oblivion protagonist dead?
if you're walking through DB in Skyrim, you can read Cicero's diary. he says that he pretended to be adoring fan just to kill the grand champion of the arena
in Oblivion you can be the grand champion of the arena and then meet the adoring fan. so champion's dead?

Oblivion is in 3E 433.
Ciceros Diary entry for that is 4E 187.
There's a 187 year gap.
The Adoring Fan is a Bosmer, Cicero is an Imperial.

Cicero killed an Arena Grand Champion, but the Oblivion one though.

Nice thought though.

The oblivion protagonist got his body and soul taken over by the aspect of sheogorath, because daedra cannot be killed or destroyed. That's basically the entire plot of shivering isles, sheogorath grooming you to become his vessel so he can separate from jygalag. So in a sense, yes the oblivion protagonist is killed.

Cicero didn't kill the protagonist. Lore-wise, the protagonist of Oblivion became Sheogorath. Besides, Skyrim takes place 200 years after Oblivion; Cicero's talking about a Champion of the Arena that came after the Hero of Cyrodiil.

Sheogorth didn't take over the CoC, the Champion of Cyrodil Mantled Sheogorath, it's an actual thing in the lore that if you pretend to be something you can end up actually becoming them. If anything Sheo probably doesn't do anything really evil or crazy as much anymore after all in Skyrim he has you cure someone's madness than trying to make someone become mad.

Yeah mantling is a thing in elder scrolls lore (like Talos mantling lorkhan), but in this case, sheogorath was not mantled. Pelinal whitestrake was, but not Sheogorath. Sheogorath was never killed or removed for somebody to mantle him. Sheogorath was cursed to share a body with jyg (because the daedra cannot be killed and the other lords could not kill jyg so they cursed him) All they accomplish in the shivering isles is make the champion of cyrodil a vessel for sheogorath to take over to separate himself.

That's why the sheogorath we meet in Skyrim has the same voice, personality and memories of sheogorath (memories from before the champion of cyrodil like his cursing of Pelagius). The champion of cyrodil might still be alive in there, but he's been wholly taken over by sheogorath and has no will of his own.

good thought.

and even if your hero didn't become sheogorath, he probably passed away, 200 years is a long time (i dont remember how long the elves live but still)

so then you can see Champion in Legends, Blades, Skyrim and Online?
CptWesker07 Dec 27, 2020 @ 5:46am
Not on Online, ESO takes place 1,000 years before the event's of Oblivion, idk about Legends and Blades, I don't know what those timelines are but in skyrim yes, you can see your old hero character!

he became the god of madness in dlc. thats why you see your charactor in skyrim. the god of madness transformed back to his normal self and told the main charactor to lead his lands.

The champion of Cyrodill becomes sheogorath, jiggalag even tells you this but not sure what to make of you cause your not sheogorath but yet you hold his mantle and basicly become a deadric prince of madness.

the skyrim quest confirms this but if u pay attention closely your in pelinal dream the sheogorath there is taking on the apperance of older sheogoarth if u compair the appearance to sheogoarth from way back before the oblivion crisis and or eso sheogoarth u notice sheogoarth from skyrim alot similer to eso sheogoarth and closer inline in appearance to palienal madness. Sheogoarth has many faces and can change there apperance take for example in elsyware they refer to sheogoath as the mad cat and sheogoarth a little kitty =P

sheogarth from shivering isles before u take the mantle dies he even tells u this and you break the cycle permently confirmed by jiggalag that even dosn't no what to call u cause your not sheogoarth but yet u taking on his mantle.
So basicly what most likely happens is the oblivion chamption character as confirmed by jigglag and haskill also mention this says you will grow into your station and if u pray to sheogoarth shrine haskill will state praying to your self my lord that's a sign of madness or some thing like that.

Basicly when u look closely at lore The oblivion cyrodill chamption ends up becoming the new sheogoarth they keep there identity but same time they take on sheogorath identity hence multi personality disorder the player both the champion of shivering isles and sheograth..

Sheogorath mentions being there when Martin became a dragon so he still remembers his mortal life he had.
