Encumbrance
So, my carried weight keeps changing. It's currently at ~250 (my max carry weight atm is 300) but occaisionally it shoots up to 302 while walking around, then goes back to ~290, then back to ~250. Anybody know how to fix/which mod causes this? I have the FCOM superpack + a few others (UVIII, some smaller non-gameplay mods).

You must have like a certain enchanted item(like a feather enchant) Myabe your taking it off with a hotkey or something? Or maybe it's some spell your casting.

That's what I thought - however, feather adds to your encumbrance limit, not takes away from your carried weight.

Yes feather does increase your maximum encumberance, but it also reduces the weight of the items you are carrying. The amount is reduced at the moment you apply the feather effect, so it is best to pack all the items in your inventory before applying feather.

If you are not carrying very much weight the feather effect can cause a negative number when multiple feather effects are applied, meaning that it can sometimes add weight to your encumberance when equipping to many feather effects with not enough weight.

Sometimes after you pick up alot of items you need to re-equip all your feather equipment so that it can recalculate your weight and maximum encumberance.

The reason why your max encumberance is changing is because you are unequipping items with feather at some point or your spells wear off after removing some items from your inventory and you are not reequipping the items with feather after adding new items into your inventory to recalculate your max encumberance.

Well, I only have one thing that's feather-enchanted, and thats 15 points...And I'm not carrying it. Also, it's not just when I pick up items, my carry weight changed from 253 to 302 by just walking around.

That is weird.

Are you sure you weren't affected by something that reduces your strength like an enchanted weapon hitting you, a disease or spell, or something with a burden effect?

I am not familiar with any mods that randomly affect your encumberance.

This has been going on for quite a while, an enchanted weapon/spell would've certainly ran out by now. Also, I have no burden in my active effects.
Perhaps you have been disfavorable towards Talos? His wrath is like no other.

It is gold in your inventory that you are carrying, not sure if this info helps a year and half later :P
But there is a setting for gold weight not to be activated until few second after you start moving/running. This effect was created with short walk from bank to shop in mind. So you can make the trip to buy that really expensive thingy using a short trip and that you can't really be running around with hundreds of septims in your pocket.

There is a setting in kuerteeGoldIsAnInventoryItem.ini to stop this behavior.

Thanks DarkAngel I am saving up and carrying like 10k gold so it was getting crippling! I was going mad.
