Trying to find a quest
I checked a wiki and it did not list this quest. When I played this game long ago some rare times in the Imperial City, I think in the Market District an Orc would walk up to me and initiate a quest. What I remember happening is he wants me to help him with something but I end up getting ambushed by bandits, maybe outside of a ruin somewhere.

Did they remove this quest possibly? I found it back in the original non-game of the year version. And no this is not the guard corruption quest.

You can view all the Imperial City Quests on UESP here[en.uesp.net].
No such quest following your description exists, nor ever has. You're misremembering.

Similar quests you may be thinking of are:
Origin of the Gray prince[en.uesp.net], where the Agronak sends you to the fort of Crowhaven.
Imperial Corruption[en.uesp.net], where you help Luronk get a corrupt guard arrested, whom then ambushes you later randomly (I'm aware you mentioned this one not being it).
Mazoga the Orc[en.uesp.net], where you help Mazoga the Orc track down and kill some bandits at their camp.

You may get less help since the title of your post is misspelled.

No I am not misremembering an entire quest, it wouldn't be possible. I liked the quest and I tried several times years ago on my 360 to find it again as it occurred the first week I owned the game. The only explanation is it is not in the newer copies with the expansions. It was a male Orc that looked very similar to the one that works in the Bloated Float.

This quest Orc appeared in my first couple of playthroughs. It seemed he would walk into the middle of the market district one day a week or maybe once ever for all I know. He would chat with people and I would get the little text of a topic. So I would go talk to him/or he would approach me idk. At some point I would be ambushed by him and other bandits outside a keep. I also remember it being a short quest. I'm positive it was the imperial city because I got this quest at lvl1-2 while traveling back and forth to the market to sell loot from nearby caves.

The only orc that gives a quest in the Imperial City that I know of is Luronk gro-Glurzog and that is Imperial Corruption:
"At 8 pm in the Market District by the entrance to Green Emperor Way, look for an Orc named Luronk gro-Glurzog. He may also be found wandering the Market during the day,"

Another Orc you help is "An Unexpected Voyage". The Bloated Float is located on the Imperial City Waterfront.

Then there is Mazoga the Orc, but he is in Lewayiin castle.

Never seen any other quest as you describe it.

I know. Like I said straight away, I checked the wiki and its not there. That's why I made a post in case anyone remembers what I'm talking about.

Either you had a mod, or all those years of crack have taken their toll

I think you're describing a quest that happens in Bravil. It's a quest that involves finding the gambling addicted husband of a concerned wife and the player finds out some orc has the whereabouts of him. Then after taking a boat to some ruins and going through the dungeon, the player finds the husband and try to rescue him. But then they're ambushed by the orc and some other bandit(s) who kill him and try to kill the player. Kill the orc and his minion(s) to get access to leaving the ruins and notifying the wife to finish the quest.

This does sound a lot like it. Especially taking the boat. Thanks so much! I will go do the quest now. The wikis didn't have this quest either though? I guess it is fan made. It's possible to miss one.

So is this a vanilla quest or a mod? Is it on UESP?

It was vanilla as I was on 360 when the game was brand new. The quest volvo describes sounds very very close to what I remember. I'm going to check it out.

It is called "Caught in the Hunt", I can only remember doing it once.

I though about that quest but it's not initiated by an orc, nor is it in the Imperial City

Yeah but the UESP Wiki does have the quest documented as part of Bravil, not Imperial City.

Yeah and while technically the 360 can use mods, that would require "jailbreaking" the entire console. And I'm sure even then, mods meant for PC (ports of) games wouldn't exactly work on console (ports).

Welp I finally fond the woman to start the quest. Maybe it was it? Seems to be the closest to it. I might have thought I found the quest in the imperial city since I would go back and forth there a lot.

Yeah maybe you suffered from the Mandela effect. I'm pretty sure there are other quests where you do have to go between Bravil and Imperial City.
