Is it possible?
Not that it matters much but i must know, is it possible to keep Jauffre and Baurus alive in the battle for Bruma? In the ensuing battle i keep everyone alive with Protect Other and Superior Convalesence although in th confusion i can't keep track if they are at full health but when i come out from Oblivion Jauffre, Baurus and Burd are always dead. I tried four times.
Would Mehrunes Razor help? It says that it kills instantly.

yes it is by having as many followers and additional troops as you can

at most unmodded with luck at 100 it is only 6% to instantly kill so not really that helpful.

It is possible to keep Baurus alive, but you have to do something earlier in the questline.

During the quest The Path of Dawn when Baurus guides you through the sewer, when you both get to the room with the final book Baurus will stop and talk to you about strategies.

Instead of choosing one, tell him "I'm not ready to go yet" and then go do everything yourself without him.

You will need a staff or spell with an area of effect to hit Raven Camoran through the metal gate, which makes him attack you.

By doing things this way, Baurus will remain essential permanently so he can never die.

One way to help save both Jauffre and Baurus or any other NPC's, is to reverse pickpocket weightless items with health bonuses onto them.

You can pickpocket a black hood off of Ri'bassa at Border Watch and then enchant it with a health bonus, reverse pickpocket the hood onto any NPC, then use the item dupe glitch by trying to reverse pickpocket 20+ arrows onto them before pickpocketing the hood back from them. That will create 20 duplicate hoods to give to other NPC's.

Another way would be to use the Construction Set to give Baurus and Jauffre a custom special ability similiar to the one that Boethia's chosen enjoy, Boethia's Chosen One's Blessing.

Fortify their Health and Endurance by 30 or so, maybe also give them a small resist magic and reflect damage bonus to increase their survivability, and you can also boost some of their other attributes. Luck would be a good choice since it boosts all stats.

You can also use the Construction Set to give them several Potions of Healing that they can use whenever they need them.

Yeah it helps to heal Baurus and Jauffre right before the main gate opens and you should enter the gate quickly, so time will stop.

Another tactic is to use Mehrunes Razor combined with Secunda's Opportunity from the Orrey DLC and equipment that boosts your Luck. If you quick save your game right before the final wave, when enemies respawn you can try to one shot them as they spawn before the main gate opens and reload if you don't kill them quickly. Once the main gate opens kill the last daedra quickly with Mehrunes Razor and save your game, then enter the main gate.

I managed to keep them alive a couple of times without giving them any items.
