How do I install an ENB?

I've tried to do this before in Oblivion and Fallout and just managed to crash the game all the time. So for reference the ENB I'm trying to use is "Aero ENB V2" From the Oblivion Mod Nexus.

I've never installed one before (properly) and I don't really understand the instructions. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

Normally the mod you install should have incorporated some sort of ReadMe or NotePad file in it that gives clear instructions what to do, if that doesn't help there should be some directions on how to install the mod on the download page on Nexus.

Trust me friend, if you want advice on installing any mod, don't consult Steam because most of the information is half-assed or a troll. If you have problems try contacting the mod creator first. :)

Well I've tried the instructions given on the page and readme and it just resulted in the game crashing. I tried reinstalling several times to no avail and the mod creator didn't reply to me

Most ENBs require HDR lighting to be enabled. Make sure that it is enabled in Oblivion's video settings, or your game will crash when the ENB tries to initialize.
