Can't activate Sigil Stones/close Oblivion gates? (Xbox 360)

So I've been doing a little side quest hunting, and closing the random oblivion gates that are around the map. There are two right next to each other Southeast, nearby Skingrad that I can't, for the life of me, close. The game won't let me "activate" or grab the Sigil Stone, no matter what angle I try to grab them from. I tried turning off the Xbox 360 and turning it back on, and it won't work. I tried leaving and entering the gate, no luck. Am I pretty much ♥♥♥♥ed at this point? There's gotta be a fix for this. :L

Sigil Stones occasionally cannot be removed from the Sigillum Sanguis; placing the cursor over the stone will have no effect, and you will be unable to activate the stone.

continue with the main quest and eventually they will all close. for now you are right, bend over cause you are #%&!ed
