Report a translation problem
Anyway, I updated the Realtek drivers and that didn't fix it. After updating and restarting, I unplugged my speakers and plugged them back in. Bizarrely, that seems to have reinitialized the audio output. I have an msi board, and it popped up the audio configuration utility to verify my speaker settings. Just toggling the settings before updating the drivers didn't do anything. At any rate the problem hasn't come back since then. I just hope it's well and truly gone. Not sure if that's any help at all.
