Windows Mouse Appearing
I've been playing Oblivion a good amount, but I'm just fed up with the mouse glitch I'm getting.

The windows mouse appears at the top and left sides of the screen when I turn enough in those directions. If I click while the windows mouse is showing, the game minimizes.

This can really ruin combat, as I have had multiple times where I try to attack an enemy, and instead minimize the game.

Anyone have an idea how to fix this? I haven't tried windowed mode, but I really don't want to play in a window.

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Y500 laptop
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
System type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor
GPU: NVIDEA GeForce GT 650M
Windows 8.1

What GPU do you have?
EDIT: Do you have any programs open in those corners, like a little Skype window or something?

I added information of my computer to the initial post.

I usually have skype minimized when playing the game, although this still happened when the process for skype was closed completely. Only other program open is Steam. I have NOT seen any program windows in the corners.

Hmmm, only things I can think of are, 1. Is Oblivion the same resolution as your desktop? 2. Have you updated your graphics card drivers recently?

1. Yes, I set it to the same resolution as my desktop, as well as a couple others.
2. Yes, I updated my graphics card about a month ago.

game companion http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42956/? might fix your issue (dont worry about the fallout link it's also mirrored in oblivion nexus)

Thanks for the suggestions! Just tried the game companion, and it didn't seem to help. I put it into windowed mode, like it said, made sure the resolution matched my desktop, tried all 3 FFModes, and even tried setting the HQ VF Downsampling/Supersample AA to 1.0, and it just makes the game in windowed mode so I can see the border that I can still click the X on while playing the game. Any other ideas?

I'm kind of out of ideas. Maybe try messing with Windows compatiblity. It could be a Windows 10 problem.

I'm running Windows 8.1, not Windows 10. I already have the game running in Windows XP Service Pack 3 compatibility from back when I tried to figure it out on my own, and I have tried the Windows Vista compatibility. I have no idea why I would have so much more trouble with Oblivion, from 06, yet have no trouble with Morrowind (excluding resolution), from 02/03.

Did you try the 'double mouse fix' (under options)? Also you shouldn't see a border...don't tick anything in the resolution tab.

Just tried the double mouse fix, which made it so I don't see my windows mouse anymore. BUT it still behaves as if it is there, meaning I can still close the window. I also reset the change I made in the resolution tab, but still see the border.

I also tried setting it to virtual fullscreen, but my mouse is only the windows mouse with the fix off, and doesn't work at all if the fix is on.

I have the same problem.
This GameCompanion - is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥, not working crap.
The real solution you only need is:
1. Locate your "Oblivion.exe".
2. Right click, "Properties".
3. Select "Compatibility" tab.
4. Select "Disable visual themes".

After that I have no muse cursor and no minimize problem with the full screen.
