can you not install the mod and activate it when you want to play that character? deactivate when you don't?

Wow, even with a complete conversion? Impressive & convenient.

actually, give me a link and I will help look into what may be overwritten during installation.

How about a few days? A week, a month? a year? This is huge & there is almost an english conversion out for Skyrim as well by the same company.

what I see is that you do not install it to your obivion folder nor do you start it using the oblivion launcher. it has its own launcher and the files show the oblivion game engina along with the textures, meshes, etc.. that you play with.

I wasn't able to get it started but I also didn't look into an english guide other than seeing to install to its own folder.

I probably won't be looking into it further.

search an english guide and hope you are successful. I did have to add the file extension .exe to get the installer to start. good luck if you proceed.

EDIT:maybe you do copy it into Oblivion folder after all but it pissed me off immediately making me change the name after downloading twice and I never recovered to care.

thanks for you efforts. As always part of pc gaming is getting the games to work. I've been doing this since 1983.

Nehrim copies the game's files and places those copies in a new location. Your game will not be affected.

Well, you can just name The Oblvion folder lik "oblivion1", and then steam does not show it as installed. You can rename it so it does show
When it is shown as not installed, you can reinstall

Sounds good, yet the installation of Nehrim states "Steam is a little rigid concerning its copy protection. Unfortunately, due to that feature you can't have Nehrim and Oblivion installed separately, so you will have to overwrite Oblivion with your Nehrim installation." And King I wondered about a "rename" as a way. What all of your suggestions depend on is Steams flexibility.

install steam on new pc, sign in, go to your library, download. Steam will want you to verify new pc & your account. Steam will email & codes for validation.

Just copy the unmodded vanilla Oblivion folder from the steam folder and paste it on your desktop.

Rename the original vanilla Oblivion folder in your Steam folder, OblivionX.

Move the copy from your desktop to your Steam folder and install Nehrim.

Then when you want to switch between them just rename the folders.

Once you have both folders set up you can add your normal Oblivion mods to one and have Nehrim on the other.
