Brightness is Too High

Hey all, the game's default brightness slider does not go low enough for me. As a result, the game looks sort of washed out (even with HDR on) and torches/nighteye are useless to me since I can see everything in the shadows.

Oblivion seems to override my Nvidia brightness settings, and my monitor's settings are too basic to be of any help. Is there a way to adjust the game's brightness/gamma to be lower than the default settings without mods? If not, what's the "lightest" (as in size/performance) mod that would include this feature?

Solved this on my own, a mod called Screen Effects enables brightness/contrast adjustments, among others.
