http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Technical_Support#Crashes did you try the things listed here on the crash page?
And try this, if you are using win 7, go to the place you installed it, right mouse button on the .exe files, properties, compatiblity, check the "disable desktop composition" checkbox.
Yesterday I started to search in the Internet and found out, that I have to run it with the intigrated graphics and NOT with the NVIDIA.
Last month I could play Skyrim on very high graphics...and now just with very low?
There have to be another problem but I've really no idea...
Concerning Oblivion...
I cant change the graphic settings which is realy annoying and it crashes always..
I updatetd my NVIDIA GEFORCE EXPERINCE and reinstalled the programm nut now I cant change the graphic settings...
With Skyrim everything is fine
-Open the Oblivion Launcher
-Select Options
-In the resolution section, select the fitting resolution for your screen. For me it is the 1920x1080 (widescreen) but THE LOWEST IN THE LIST! (selecting the one on top of the list is what caused the problem)
-Click on "ok" and launch the game, it should be fine now.
*In the options, you also want to select the right graphic card in the section "adapter" if you have several ones. "Antialliasing" should be set on "none". If you experience black screen in character creation but can see the menus and hear the game, switching from "hdr" to "bloom" might fix it (but be aware that it will mess up with the mod TESLodGen that requires hdr)
**On the side note: you should run the game as administrator. Go to your game directory, right click on the oblivion.exe>properties>compatibilities>check "run as administrator>apply. If you use mods and have installed OBSE, do the same with obse_loader.exe (should be in the same directory) and launch the game using that application instead of the regular launcher. Also, the option "run with compatibility mode" set to "Windows 8" might help if you have compatibility issues with newer Windows versions.
Hope that can help someone
