The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

(Spoiler) Vampire Cure Quest Explination
Since Oblivion came out, this quests conclusion made no sense to me. Why did the potion kill Janus Hassildor's wife? was it because she refused to feed? was it because she passed her mortal lifetime? was the potion bad? Was this an intended effect? why did the potion not kill me? she just droped dead after drinking it, thats not much of a cure.

Thanks, but its still kind of vague. Was it the lack of feeding that did it specifically or was it something else. It kind of hints that it was the lack of feeding, but how would that make the potion kill her? Im not sure if the answer even exists, but it seems like that situation was poorly explained and the couts reaction was a little confusing as well.

Weolcome to The Elder Scrolls. The land where many things are as vague as the devs can make it. :steamhappy:

Rona, the count's wife was disgusted by the fact that she became a vampire and refused to drink blood. Eventually she grew so weak that she went into an eternal coma. I'd assume Janus didn't want to slay his wife. In the Elder Scrolls Oblivion, it's a known fact that Cyrodillic vampirism causes nightmares for those inflicted, I'd assume she suffered from those nightmares including the fact that she was suffering from being a vampire. I'd assume she died, due to her condition. Perhaps being a vampire for too long is incurable.

Maybe that potion was some kind of antivirus, pushing her metabolism above what it could endure.
