Mods and load order
I chose to post these two questions here as I thought the response would be fairly quick. I have two questions I was hoping someone could help me with. They deal with load order and how to change load order.

1. First I am simply wondering if my mods load in the correct order. Is the order of the "data files" in the launcher indicative of the actual load order? I am running BOSS to determine load order before starting. However, the order of the mods in "data files" doesn't at all correspond to the load order in say OBMM.

2. Second, I was wondering how I could manually change the load order. Even if all mods load according to BOSS changes, I still would like to change at least on mod in the load order. I can easily do that in OBMM, but since I'm using steam to launch the game, and OBSE through the steam launcher, changing the load order in OBMM doesn't seem to do anything since I'm not launching it through OBMM.

Thanks in advance guys!

For some reason, the Oblivion launcher's Data Files doesn't seem to display mods in order of load order. So long as OBMM is showing the correct order, it's probably fine (although if you have issues, they could be solved by some tweaking, I am pretty clueless on this, though, I just use BOSS and it seems to do the job).

So, if you tweak the load order in OBMM, it should work fine, even though the Data Files thing says everything's exactly where it always was. I've definitely had times when I needed to move a thing up or down a couple of places in OBMM's load order and that made a difference in game.

Yeah, don't use or worry about the Data Files while using OBMM. The correct load order will be displayed in OBMM and any manual adjustments should be made using it.

Keep in mind that you may need to run BOSS if you install any new mods and any unrecognized mods will have to be manually placed to the best of your ability. You will also have to re-adjust all unrecognized mods if you run BOSS again after installing any new mods in the future.

Thanks for your replies! Yeah, I thought so about the launcher and the data files, just wanted to make sure.

It seems then the load order saves after changing it in OBMM, even if I'm not launching it from it. The reason for me asking, was the fact that I installed a mod, a patch for a different mod. This mod, I wanted to load after the mods in need of patching, but BOSS changed it to before. And when I couldn't launch the game, however I changed the load order, I thought maybe OBMM didn't really change the load order. But I mean, the problem could just as easily be with the mod. I think I'll just leave that mod be for now.

Appears to be alphabetical order.

Another option is to manually edit the master list for BOSS so that the mod will load after the ones you want to patch. It's only a txt file and can be edited using Notepad.
