Oblivion white textures buggy, Fixed it!!! but.. lol

Well pretty much i just installed oblivion from steam. I believe it's the goty edition. it has all the exspansions plus a couple extras i hadn't noticed before such a thievesden.esp, vilelair.esp, etc. when i go to load the game i notice at the main screen it looks buggy. not so much as missing textures but a little twitch going from new-load-options, etc. it goes away after a moment. i cliked new to start a new game, skip through the intro to see my characters face with white textures popping in and out from normal to white. i took a screen shot for example. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=602791920

i never see that... Maybe you should try to turn off hdr/bloom

it didn't work king i'm going to reinstall it from steam maybe it was just a bad install. i've installed it before without this issue. it could be that.

As a texture/mesh failure the complete face would be affected. I guess it is from your videocard settings. I suggest to open your Nvidia/Amd software and uncheck all possible option that can change a game´s apperance.

Those look like graphic anomalies. This usually indicates that the graphics card is faulty. Could be a simple case of it not being supported well.

it could be but i bouth this pc maybe a year ago and havent really played any games heavily besides runescape, and the occasional oblivion. also when i first played oblivion bought through steam on this specific pc it ran great on any settings. breifly in the past weeks i believed someone got on my pc and downloaded mods for another game through an untrusted source. so i did a reboot to be safe. i wasn't playing oblivion at that time. infact it wasn't until recent weeks that i unboxed my pc as i had put in up because i wasn't using it. but when i was using it oblivion ran fine. i'm getting 60 fps and the game it self is running fine. i wonder if i need a patch or if when i rebooted it some setting the graphics driver reuslted to original as it came. i do belive when i first purchased oblivion i had to into the nvidia contorl pannel and change a few things but i can't remember what they were. i've heard the terms aa/af recently though? could you possibly walk me through that? i could take a screen shot of my setting? here are some recent screen shots as well. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/609476836157427157/758705FF67430AF32CED04947CC6ECA2C8FDFF86/ http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/609476836157429338/6748B8432B86140FF7E14559CE1EEE7BF128C132/ also i have fallout 3 but it dosen't do this. this all started around the time someone purchased spintires through steam on my pc. that game ran fine as well until it was believed someone downlaoded some mods for it from an untrusted source. then it would have lines similar to oblivion and crash a few minutes into gameplay. only oblivon isn't crashing and i've done a coupe reboots, also adding the option to erase my personal file during the reboots which should have left nothing behind? idk what to do man. if it can be fixed or as simply overlooked as one of the settings in the nvidia control pannel i'd like to find out. i really don't wanna go drop $500 for another model if i'm just overlooking something here.

hey marko i turned off ambient occlusion anisotropic filter antialiasing - FXAA antaliasing - antialasing mode, i think that it but it still doing it what does ss stand for? and i do believe it something to do with the setting as when i was turning some off and on earlier the purple dots in one the screen shots appearred before i got to the start menu. also guys before i even get into the game the letters kinda twitch man i dont know what is causing this. i have directx11 btw i think the latest out is 11.2 it says i need to update through windows if i want it so i tried that today but after updating and restarted it still say directx 11 so idk. could i be missing a patch or anything? i when i first started it back up it had some saves from when i had mods??.. it asked me if i wanted to load that save because something was missing. but that always happens if you had a mod and got rid of it and try to reload a save that the mod was attacthed too so idk man. i wonder if i uninstalled and it and reinstalled through a different directory if that would help?

some driver and cards bit tricky to get some games to work not all driver and not all grafic cards work with all games ps cache and virtual ram can be tricky as well sicne virtual ram can bug as caching double as well if not delete it after new driver install and reset it up! depedndign on hardware if it works properly, depending on drivers if they work properly depending on codedc if they work properly and if all is properly setup, hopefully if crads not clog up by dust they tend to work the best dust clog up card overheat and tend to bug in any possible way there many things that can cause issuews with grafic and games takes failure seeking and working on it and research to figure out problames that are caused. sometimes it can be fixed sometimes not and only then a new pc might help sometimes not cause some older games are not support in dx12 properly sicne it only supports dx10 librarys and newer unless you get direct x work arounds for it! good look but hope you figrue it out if you need new card or new driver or other driver or other thing or new grafic card.or fixing codec or changeing virtual ram cache cause there many things that can create weird bugs

i rolled back my driver and bam the flickering stopped! but now i got a black screen at character creation but i've also seen this online while looking for information regarding my former issue so i'll just look up that fix now. but thank you to everyone who replied i want yall to know that meant alot too me goodnight. it was a week worth of fighting and googling and listening to everyone's information but i finnaly figured it out. glad my graphics card isn't faulty after all.
