Healing Spells

Where can I get healing/restoration magic? I don't have a clue.

You start with a basic healing spell unless you have a mod changing the game. Spells can be bought at the mages guild in each city during the day only even without becoming a member. If they don't show any option to buy then wait an hour as it may be meal time. The Imperial City is the only exception as spells are sold in 2 places in the market district. If you want to join the guild then after doing so you will have access to all areas but its not necessary to buy most spells.
Press the TAB key and you can access 4 menu's one of which is spells, hot key by holding a number and clicking on the spell, 1-8 only.

Anvil's mage's guild specialises in Restoration. For purchasing training, visit the chapels in Bruma, Skingrad, Bravil, Cheydinhal or Kvatch after the siege.

The Chapels have unique Restoration spells, and Anvil is the Mage's Guild branch that focuses in it. You can also find random Restoration spells in other Mage's Guild locations. But Restoration benefits from using custom spells probably more than any other school.

Everyone has "Heal Minor Wounds" spell. So if you have Frostcrag Spire or access to the Arcane University, you can create your own spell's.

The birthsign of the lord grants one of the best healing spells early to middle game, being a lesser power is unaffected by the use of armor, but you don't gain restoration experience
