Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul - Missing Meshes/Textures
Hey, so I recently took my first foray into modding games with Oblivion and I've hit a bit of a snag. When I boot the game, there are huge yellow squares with exclamation points on them, which I take to mean that something is missing there.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there's a simple solution I'm overlooking. I'm updated with the most recent patches for Oblivion, running version 1.35 of Oblivion Overhaul and no other mods are engaged, at least until I have the kinks worked out of this one.

Thanks in advance for your help, it's greatly appreciated.

I have had that problem myself using OOO. It is like it sometimes decides not to install some textures. I had the problem happen to me for cemetary headstones and others.

The only thing I can suggest is to either reinstall OOO as a last resort or install a texture pack after installing OOO and check if it resolves the problem.

Fair warning though, uninstalling OOO may corrupt your Oblivion install and may require reinstalling the game so proceed with caution.

The problem might be that OOO uses alternative texture paths for some items, for instance Imperial Legion armor. If another mod somehow interfers with the file path, it might cause a problem.

You can also use the construction set to manually direct any problematic items to the correct meshes or texture file paths, if you can manage to find the item in question without issue.

Did you try upgrading OOO without first removing EVERYTHING related to it from your Data folder? Read the readme file. It tells you one cannot do that without running into the same issue you had since they packed everything into one big BSA file from 1.34 to 1.35.
Delete your Data folder, uninstall Oblivion and start over again. Delete your saves as well, obviously.

I know this thread is old, but I found a solution for anyone still trying to figure this out. I downloaded the most recent files for OOO (136c) and I used Oblivion Mod Manager (OBMM) to install it. I created the OMOD and tried to get it to run but I was having the same issues. Big yellow things telling me that messhes or textures were missing.

What you have to do is make sure you download the corresponding BSA file to the version of OOO you're trying to use. Once you extract the BSA file, simply place it in your directory into you Data file. This is C:/program files/steam/steamapps/common/Oblivion/Data.

Hope this helps anyone. Would very much recommend downloading OBMM if you haven't already.
