SFX stuttering?
Sound effects stutter badly when I'm not facing them (music's fine). Footsteps sound off when I strafe, can't hear NPCs talking if I turn my back to them, etcetera. I've heard it probably has something to do with stereo sound channels being screwy.

Can anyone help? This ♥♥♥♥ is annoying.

So am I (playing pure vanilla). I do get an occasional hesitation when changing cells in the open (usually something else is running in the background when this happens), but, otherwise everything is fine. Possibly something to do with hardware or options set up. Sorry, I have no idea what, but, the problem is not universal. I do have some of my sound settings much lower than standard as I, personally, find too much noise enervating, perhaps less is more. You could try tweaking your sound configuration a little if you have not already.

I have the opposite issue all my sounds are crystal clear and fine except after like 20 mins my music starts to stutter and restarting it or turning off the music is the only solutions for me, the stutter fixing mods didnt work for the music on my end or messing with oblivion.ini, I'm also completely vanilla now too, did you find anything that could be affecting the sound. I'm thinking this game's engine just has a hard time with windows 11

Just in case someone stumbles upon this post, i found this fix in another really obscure thread

In case anyone else has this problem in the future and happens to stumble across this thread, I found a fix at least in my case. The problem seems to occur only when you have "Audio Enhancements" enabled in your speaker properties. Disabling it fixed this exact audio issue for me.

On Windows 11 go down to your system tray and right click the speaker icon
> then click on sound settings
> next, under the advanced section click on "more sound settings"
> select your currently enabled output device and click properties
> at the top of the screen select the "Advanced" tab
> finally uncheck the "enable audio enhancements" box under the signal enhancements section.
