The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Help, Saves not saving D=
I think i messed something up! I have OBSE and a few mods running in my oblivion. For some reason, when i go to save my game, it doesnt create a save file! It acts as though it hhas saved the game, the "Save Successful" text appearing, but no new save appears. The quick and autosave things work just fine, but manual saves dont, and when i tried saving over an od autosave with a manual, it just seems to have deleted it. =<

What is your characters name? Using some special characters can sometimes cause problems with saving.

i didn't use anything other than letters and a single space =< it's something like "Val Willow" it is a custom race, but i have the custom race fix installed too =<

It might be the space.

Try renaming your character without the space to check.

player.setactorfullname "Your character's name"

really? cause i have a non-modded save with a space in the name, and that worked fine, also, before i wiped everything and reinstalled (an inexperienced user's attempt to fix the "no/black eyes" glitch with certain mods) i had a modded save with a space in the name as well, and that worked too O.o

Maybe you are right. I just thought checking could eliminate it as the problem.

Usually using special characters causes problems.

im sorry to be a bother~ i just verified my game cache through steam, and it said everrything was fine, but when i checked in the actual game files, isnt there supposed to be a folder named "Saves"?

Your saves should be in your documents under My Games Oblivion.

If there is No folder named "Saves" in My Documents/My Games/Oblivion, then make a new folder called Saves, and try again, maybe you have picked up your saves folder by mistake and moved it inside another folder? it happens, try looking in surrounding folders, or do a search for it in your windows search bar. (Game can also be saved by tapping consol on ¬ this button below Esc, and typing in. savegame 123, or whatever you want to call it, and pressing Enter.)
