Fighters Guild problem
The game won't let me finish this questline.I just completed all the quests given by Burz gro-Khash and still have one left from Azzan. The thing is, he won't give it to me. He says he has nothing for me and when I try to advance he tells me I am not ready. I spoke to all other guild leaders but nobody allows me to advance. I believe this is some kind of bug, but I could be wrong. Do any of you have some kind of solution to this? Also, I don't have any saves from before the last quest, so forget that.

I'm a bit stumped on what console command will work and have the least impact. Normally you could advance the quest to the next stage which usually fixes any glitch preventing you from progressing and it has a small effect but with no active Fighters Guild quest that's not an option. From what I've read on UESP Azzan only gives you the option to advance and then offer a new quest when you are at the rank of Protector or Defender but as you're now a Warder you have progressed past those ranks.

See if using the console to demote yourself to Protector or Defender then makes Azzan have an option to progress in the guild. Using the console is only permanent if you then save the game so if it doesn't have the desired result don't save and just close and restart the game.

Search for Player.SetFactionRank in the following page:

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Console_Command_Tutorial

Fighters Guild is 2228F and 0 is Associate so:

Player.SetFactionRank 2228F 1

would change your rank to Apprentice (see the list below)

Based on that Player.SetFactionRank 2228F 4

should change you to Protector and

Player.SetFactionRank 2228F 5

should change you to Defender. See if experimenting with these makes Azzan's conversation options change and Advancement is now highlighted. Remember to only speak to him during the day in his office.

Apprentice
Journeyman
Swordsman
Protector
Defender
Warder
Guardian
Champion

You might have a quest waiting from Oryen in Chorrol. Check with him.

I do not. I spoke to all other Fighters Guild leaders, nobody has anything for me.

Oryen isn't the leader in Chorral, but he is concerned about her leadership & gives you a couple of quests, one to take her son on a rescue mission for training. You should have been directed to speak to him but if you haven't done that quest, try just talking to him.

Look at your journal and active quests and completed quests to see what your last completed quest is for the fighters guild. What is your current quest with the Fighters Guild?

Guys, I don't have a current quest. I finished all quests from Cheydinhal and have one left from Anvil, but Azzan won't give it to me. I am not allowed to advance and Oryen won't give me a quest either. My question is, is there any way to make Azzan give me that last quest so that I can finish the ones given by Oryen?

That was long ago, this is during the last few quests.

It sounds like you screwed up the quest order somewhere along the line. What was the next-most recent Fighters Guild quest you've done?

What's your current rank in the Fighters Guild? These might help:

If you're on the PC you can use the console to advance the questline but it would be better to use the console to advance your rank as that should then make Azzan have a new quest or advancement. I'm not sure what the command is but will see if I can find out.

The last quest given by the orc.

That gives us some important information. This issue seems to be connected to some bug regarding your Fighter's Guild rank, which is determined by the quests you've done. What's the most recent Fighters Guild rank promotion you've received, and what quest gave it? Also, what was the most recent quest you've done for Oreyn?

I am a warder but I don't know when and from whom did I get the promotion. The last quest I did for Oreyn was Trolls of forsaken mine.

Yeah, I think I've figured out your problem, and it seems to be a combination of two things.
The first is that when you take on "Trolls of Forsaken Mine", you're supposed to be at the third-highest rank, with one last quest for Azzan and two last quests for Burz gro-Karsh. Turning in the quest at Anvil is supposed to bump you down two ranks. Turning it in to Burz gro-Kash, which you can do, delays that demotion, but the demotion NEEDS to happen for the Fighters Guild story-line to move forward. You're supposed to be able to regain those two ranks by doing the two of those three remaining quests for Burz gro-Karsh and Azzan. The second issue is that because you've already DONE Burz gro-Karsh's last quest before doing "Trolls of Forsaken Mine", both rank progression and quest progression got screwed up. They've been done before the required point in the Fighters Guild quest-line, and now the game doesn't know what to do. I usually don't approve of this, but it looks like console commands are the only way you'll be able to solve this one without starting a new game.

I see your point, however I don't know anything about the console, could you instruct me in a good direction?

Do a search for "Oblivion Fighter's Guild" on the UESP wiki. That's one of the best wikis for TES stuff. It'll have the information you want.
