WHO THOUGHT GHOSTS/WRAITHS invunerability was a good idea?????
I thought I was ok fighting ghost family mobs with weapons past silver but NOPE! I have an elven claymore and it DOES NOTHING agaisnt ghosts...

WELL PLAYED BUGTHESDA now I have to run around and AVOID dungeons with those mobs inside because #wethinkmobswithinvunerablitiesarecool.

♥♥♥ OFF. My 55 dollar silver butterknife vs my 1000 elven claymore that can hurt SOME enemies but not ALL enemies Fu c k off.

They have 100% resistance to normal weapons; not a bug. Use a magic or daedric weapon, or magic. Even an enchanted iron weapon will work, even if it has 0 charge.

You're the reason why Bethesda games are getting increasingly more dumbed down. I thought oblivion was the worst one for now much they dumbed down the game and did everything to protect the player from their own stupidity, but I guess it wasn't enough.

Why would incorporeal creature be vulnerable to common, even if masterfully crafted weapons, that would be stupid

Didn't pick The Ritual as Birthsign, 2/10

Then with this logic Witcher 3 is bad game too? You need silver weapons in that game as well

It's a terrific idea, it adds another dimension to the game.

Carrying one enchanted/or silver weapon is not a big deal after all. Or, you can simply use magic. If you have to carry an extra weapon, there are silver daggers, (lightest weapon) free if you join the Mages Guild. Or, reserve all the silver arrows you find (before you can buy them) for use against ghosts.

I would like to see more of this type of variation. (How about Vampires - they could be immune to all but fire magic or silver arrows. :lunar2019smilingpig:)

Its fun to summon a Faded Wraith in a group of bandits or marauders when you see Dwarven and Glass weapons in everyone's hand.
Wraiths are horribly slow so you can also just leave real easy if you don't have Silver/Daedric, decent Destruction, or you can use a Bound weapon.

Vampires have Resist Normal Weapons too, actually, its just not 100% :P
So Silver, Daedric, and Enchanted weapons do help.
isn't it common in fantasy settings for incorporeal beings to only be harmed by silver or magic? Sounds like a skill issue, OP. Maybe you should go back to Skyrim.

Yes, I know. It's a bit wishy-washy though. Pure silver arrow or fire magic only would be MUCH more fun. :parksmiley:

Enchanted weapons work, regardless of whether they're silver or not. Also Magic. It's not a design flaw. Ever hit a ghost with your sword irl? Every time I've done it my sword went right through them.

Bumping Vampires up to 100% Resist Normal Weapons would be pretty easy to do in Creation Kit. For player and/or NPCs ;)
If you want to be absolutely technical, immunity isn't real. Resist Normal Weapons is an actor value. If you use a spell, poison, etc with Weakness to Normal Weapons, it'll be harmable with anything.

Granted, the only source in unmodded Oblivion is a random scroll granting 20% weakness for 20 seconds, and it wouldn't stack with itself (you'd just reset the timer), but my point still stands.
