I also heard Vampires drop Daedric Armor so I'll try that too.
I remember reading on the Fandom Elder Scrolls wiki that Dremora Valkynaz dropped Daedric Armor but It didn't mention anything about them only dropping certain specific pieces.
I am now annoyed that I can't farm for Daedric Armor and Sigil Stones in the same place.
If you're a high enough level (21+), try the quest Caught in the Hunt[elderscrolls.fandom.com]; it spawns multiple set instances of boss-spawn Bandit and Marauder enemies. The last Marauder you fight is very likely to have a Helmet though the quality is random (Orcish-Daedric).
Hard Save before you enter the boat, quicksave before you enter the last load cell (The Hunter's Abyss). Enter the Abyss, see what the warlord has, if its not a Daedric helmet you can quickload back to your quicksave location outside the cell.
If its stubborn or gets stuck loading a specific set, restart the hard save, go to the island again, and repeat with quicksaves.
Fort Grief here is generally the best place to get a helmet.
Also, Caught in the Hunt is a quest that could easily have been encountered and completed much earlier in the game than level 21+, and in general my expectation is that a level 41 character such as the OP's will already have done more or less every quest that the player cared to do and is now just faffing around doing whatever.
And if they haven't done the quest yet, its nearly guaranteed to get a Daedric Helmet there at level 21+.
The Nord Hunter is a 50% Helmet spawn rate in the level list, Orc Hunter (the one by himself in the Hunter's Abyss for easy reload abuse) is 75% helmet (and gauntlets) spawn on level list.
Most Marauders have a zero percent helmet rate - its not even in their levelled equipment list - so by all means, if you have something better than a set 75% chance in an easily abusable interior load cell, I'm all ears.
In the context of 'farming' loot, literally anything that respawns is better than a non-respawning 75% chance of obtaining a helm - chests, the one marauder warlord in most marauder dungeons, whatever - especially seeing as the OP states that their character is level 41 and thus ought to have long since obtained everything that they actually need for that character.
Several assumptions are made here, speculation, that's only answerable by the OP.
If he's looking for a single helmet and hasn't done the quest yet, it is in fact a pretty reliable way to get a helmet. I've had characters nearly that level that I did nothing more than unlock Arcane University, Breaking the Siege of Kvatch (at level 1 to save the chore of infinity Clannfear), and train skills via Trainers (Atheltics) and self-casted training spells before "actually playing the game". Character level is totally independent of quests.
If he has done the quest already or needs multiple copies, you'd ideally want a location with multiple Marauder Boss spawns. There are no such locations in the game.
There's a few with a single respawning Boss sortable on this table:
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Marauder_Dungeons
Fort Nickel, the location in the Answer-marked post, has a problem: no Marauder Boss spawns. Standard Marauder has a 25% chance of gauntlets, and no chance of a helmet, it is not in the equipment lists at all. You could run fort nickel a hundred times and you'll never get a heavy helmet. Same reason he can run a hundred Oblivion Gates and kill 400 Dremora Valkynaz, and never get a helmet.
Fort Wariel[en.uesp.net] is a single cell, you can hard save / quicksave in the exterior cell above it, and reset it for a helmet spawn.
Standard Marauder Boss has a 25% chance to carry a helmet (same for gauntlets), looking at the list. May or may not be enchanted.
So, if he has not done the quest, a lone, set encounter with 75% helmet and gauntlet chance in an abusable cell is, factually, the best possible circumstance to get a helmet and gauntlets. 75% each is better than 25% each, I can't make a clearer point here.
If he has done the quest or wants multiple helmets/gauntlets, there's 9 possible locations, 1 boss each, Fort Wariel appears to be the simplest to abuse, and contains 5-6 standard Marauders (for Gauntlets) with a single Boss (gauntlets/helmet).
I just want a cool black and red spikey helmet to go with the rest of my cool black and red spikey armor
can I just get a simplified list to where I will most likely find a Daedric Helmet?
I am tired of the look of Pelinal's Armor and I want to get a cool set of Custom Enchanted Daedric Armor with the sigil stones I have collecting.
Sure. Dasek Moor, Fort Alessia, Fort Blueblood, Fort Cedrian, Fort Homestead, Fort Strand, Fort Wariel, Fort Wooden Hand, and Infested Mine. Look for the marauder Bosses. 25% chance to have a helmet, while standard and boss marauders have 25% chance to carry gauntlets. Only boss can have a helmet.
