You find the language setting in the file oblivion.ini in the folder (your username)\documents\my games\oblivion (the name may be a little different on a Spanish PC). Search for the line containing "language values" and change in the next line iLanguage=0 to iLanguage=3.
In my rudimentary Spanish it would be something like:
Cambias el idioma en oblivion.ini. Busca este:
";Language values: 0-English, 1-German, 2-French, 3-Spanish, 4-Italian
iLanguage=0"
y cambia iLanguage=0 a iLanguage=3.
Trovas oblivion.ini en documents\my games\oblivion (o similar en espanol).
To make sure we're talking about the same thing, I'll describe in detail, how I think I can change the language on my PC:
- I go to my Steam library and scroll down, until TES IV: Oblivion becomes visible on the left side (it's the GoTY version).
- Then I right-click with the cursor positioned on TES IV: Oblivion.
- A small box with 5 entries appears. I left-click the bottom entry, "Properties ...".
- A new window appears, with the big white headline "GENERAL". On the left side of this window you see 7 clickable entries, the first one is "General", the last one "DLC". The 4th entry is "Language". Clicking "Language" changes the right side of this window from "GENERAL" to "LANGUAGE", displaying the words "Select the language ...", and there is a white box showing "English" and a small blue arrow (or triangle) pointing downwards.
- When I click this arrow, a language selection box appears, the second entry is "Espanol ...".
- I haven't tried it myself, but I'm pretty sure that clicking the entry "Espanol ..." changes the game language to Spanish.
I find it difficult to imagine why your Steam installation should work differently (except that the literals may be Spanish), but if this is the case: If you follow the process I described above, where does your experience differ from mine?
PS: I just did a quick internet search for "oblivion steam cambiar el idioma", and there were several links listed. You may try this yourself - perhaps you find an answer there?
A legal issue?
Well, have fun playing in Spanish!
