The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Oblivion Remake
Berthesda remade skyrim after all thease years even tho skyrim didn't need to be remade, it was fine how it was....Oblivion on the otherhand. The content has aged well but the graphics, well you know what I mean, so do you think after making the skyrim reame they will also make a oblivion remake?

i wouldn't count on it
As cool as that would be I wouldn't count on it, but you never know.
I doubt they will... Oblivion has an outdated engine, in case with Skyrim they already had Fallout 4 modified engine which is modified Skyrim engine XD For Oblivion as well as for Morrowind they literally need to make a new game according to nowadays standarts imo.
elder scrolls saga is no more. argonians hold power over whatever left of the project. i'm not sure if people responsible for oblivion and morrowind are still... alive... or are being held under their will somewhere under an effect of the hist sap. -_-

Won't happen ever. Skyrim was their biggest Elder Scrolls success, people were always petitioning for a skyrim remaster. Morrowind and Oblivion can have people asking too, but Skyrim had volume of requests.
isn't it weird that despite oblivion being close to second most popular among most modded games, and even without the ridiculous promotion by media for casuals, it gets 0 attention from the devs themselves?

just look at these replies... 4 out of 4 suggest us to abandon our hopes...

who are you people? what made you say these things in here?
yeah the should
Skyrim wasn't remade, it was ported to a higher quality engine and given a facelift.

The closest equivalent you would get for Oblivion or Morrowind would be Skyblivion or Skywind. That is what a remake of them would look like.
Skyrim was not remade, it was remastered. No new assets or anything. Basically the ported the game to the newer Fallout 4 engine.

This was little effort for them, because they already did it as a part of developing Fallout 4. In order to do this for Oblivion, they would have to do the same, taking much more effort. More than that, they would need to seriously revamp many Oblivion assets to get the same effects.

In short, Skyrim Remaster meant releasing what htey already had, while an Oblivion Remaster would need significant porting work. It ain't gonna happen.

Reality made us say it.
I want Origin to remake Ultima III as a 3D realtime open world sandbox RPG. But it's not going to happen either.

dude, i know how much you like the game

for all its flaws, we all like the game too; it's the one i started with back on PS3, and it's my favourite

but it won't happen. ever.

Besides, I'd rather see Elder Scrolls 1 and 2 get a full revamp than 3 and 4.
Daggerfall or Morrowind I think would be more likely to get remade. Particularly Daggerfall as it wouldn't be remotely close to being as difficult to remake as the more modern ones.

Well remaking it as a modern TES openworld sandbox would be a very daunting task. Problem number one is how do you deal with a procedurallly generated world the half the size of Great Britain? It's either going to end up looking like a random world (ei. Minecraft), or you're going to have to shrink all the space between the significant locations.

This image shows you the perspective: http://i.imgur.com/B7rBN.jpg

The current record holder for the largest non-procedural game world belongs to Lord of the Rings Online. I play this game, and it's huge (and still not quite finished). But it's still a tiny smudge on the Daggerfall map.

Problem two is the procedurally generated dungeons. You thought the Oblivion dungeons all looked the same? Hah! You can hand craft the dungeons like in Morrowind and Skyrim, but you can't do it for a world the size of Daggerfall.

You can't do the same game as a 3D realtime open world sandbox like it's descendants. The best you can do is keep it the same style of game but with higher resolution raycasting.
