The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

What Oblivion vampire mod should I install?
Since I'm more or less late to the party with this one and I don't know what's hip, what's ♥♥♥♥, and what's meh.

What I want is, more or less, something that makes me grow stronger as I feed. The more I feed, the more powerful a vampire I become, steadily getting more powers.

The only mod I am immediately vetoing is Unholy Darkness. For reasons.

I am just not a fan of the whole "your powers only grow when you don't feed" mechanic. Not because I dislike the penalties, I dislike the idea that feeding on life essence makes me *weaker*.

This is one possible one I'm looking at: http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/22501/ but I can't quite decide.

"Nekhanimals Awesome Vampire Mod by Nekhanimal"
It is one of your candidate.
I heard it is very well designed.
also author will reply sometimes.

All these give Vampire supernatural power that you want.

I personally adopt "LTD-Vampire Overhaul by LoginToDownload"
For i want go casual vampire play.

After further research into Nekhanimals' mod, I find that I don't quite mesh with it as I initially thought.

I think I'll give LTD's mod a look.

I have played LTD Vampire.
This mod is configurable via in-game menus.
Do not give you many abilities but transforming into Wolf is nice.

I hope you will find a good mod for your vampire life.
I am also looking for a good vampire mod...
I'm kinda in a disagreeance with the vampire revolution mod, since I read that it makes garlic weaken you, either when you're holding it, or when you're eating it. Lorewise, it doesn't really make sense, since the only vampire I know about that is actually affected in the game by garlic is the vampire guy in the dark brotherhood. You'll find a letter in his room that talks about how he has this special condition taht no other vampires seem to have where garlic basically ♥♥♥♥♥ with him.

Oh, yeah, and "holy objects" such as churches will also weaken you, which lemme' tell ya' this, I don't get why garlic and "holy objects" would weaken a vampire in any way.

The garlic and holy objects I think goes back to Bram Stoker. Vlad the Impaler cursed god for the death of his wife and inturned was cursed himself. Garlic has a long history of being used to keep evil spirits away and just naturally ended up in Vampiric lore. Most likely why Van Helsing used it. Or I should say why Bram made Van Helsing use it. Religon was also a primary reason why sun light injured vampires and that they where creatures of the night. Personally I nerver understood the "stake throught the heart".

Originally, stakes through the heart didn't actually kill vampires. But... if they were in their coffins, and you thrust a stake through their heart all the way to the back of the coffin, they would be unable to remove the stake, and thus remain stuck in their coffin for eternity.

It was simpler (and less cruel, I suppose) to have stakes just outright kill vampires in later stories.

Another little known vampiric bit of lore (that has steadily become more well known) is that if you spilled a bag of grain in front of a vampire, they would be compelled to count each individual grain, thus giving you time to get away.
Garlic makes much less sense now, and I suppose the whole stake in the heart trope seems to be dumbed down these days to "stake in heart, you dead" which...that also makes a lot less sense, now cause stake in the heart, they don't have a pulse anymore, what's a stake in the heart gonna do? I mean, the World of Darkness lore has the stake only stun vampires at least. Bramp Stoker vampires, I've heard they don't really die from sunlight, but instead lose their powers in it. Weaknesses such as the Holy Bible, and the cross, now-a-days seems pretentious, as if it's to say "our relgion can kill vampires, cause it's the true religion." Running water, doesn't even have to be holy. Silver, so Dracula's stealing from the were-wolf. Wolf's bane too. Dropping small items at a quantity makes no sense as a vampire weakness, honestly, unless somehow vampirism worsens someone's OCD. Vampire at your door, no matter, don't invite him in.

Honestly, the kinds of vampire weaknesses I can understand are sunlight, blades, and fire. Can anyone say they know a guy who can withstand each of those, and not die?
So, I've decided to download Vampire Revolution, I read the FAQ, and apparently I can turn off some of the things I disagree with. So I'm gonna need some help downloading both it, and anything I require to make it work.

In some more modern fiction, it's either the vampire's religion in life, or whatever symbol the person has faith in, that determines if a religious symbol burns a vampire.

That being said, overanalyzing old folklore is kind of missing the point. Vampires aren't supposed to be scientific, they were kind of a superstitious belief. In fact, the myth of the werewolf and the myth of the vampire are, in some places, one and the same.

Ok, so now about help in downloading Vampire Revolution and gettin' it to work?
I haven't used it so I'm not sure I can help. What exactly are you having trouble with?
Well, I know I'm gonna have trouble downloading some of the stuff I need, as well as the mod in general and getting everything to work. I've got OBSE installed, I dunno if i have the unofficial patch downloaded right, and I my end up needin' help with AddActorValues v1.0. Then there's gonna be the problem of downloading Vampire revolution its self, importing it to the Oblivion Mod Manager, and getting it to work.

I also tried to get the local guards mod to work, but I think I made a mis-step somewhere, cause all the guards still look pretty much the same. None of them are wearing any unique sets of armor.
