What is the point of Spell Absorption?
A bit confused about the point of "Spell Absorption".

It is supposed to allow you to increase your magicka when a spell is cast against you, but it can never increase it higher then the maximum.

So wouldn't NOT casting this spell be a better idea?

In other words, why waste your Mackiga for the purpose of restoring it to its original amount?

Because it allows you to gain extra magicka during combat, instead of wating for it to regen and if you have 100% spells won't do any damage to you

An enemy spell that is absorbed does no damage to you, also as enemy spell casters level up with you they cast stronger spells, which means you can get a lot of mana instantly. However, yes, spell absorption is more useful if you cast a lot of spell yourself during combat. Otherwise spell reflect ist better.

Okay, thanks for explaining it.

Forgot to ask, if you have Spell Absorption of 250 points, does that mean that any spell that costs 250 points of magicka or less won't effect me at all?

Can a spell be partially absorbed, if they cast a spell with more then 250 points?

The points are the chance in percent a spell will be absorbed, so with 100 points every spell will be (same with Reflect). Amount of damage does not matter.

For all your questions btw. take the time and click through the wiki:

Sorry, I have one last question:

Does Reflect Damage work the exact same way as Reflect Spell?

Someone told me it is different.

So if you sustain 100 damage from a sword, and your Reflect Damage is
25 percent, you will ALWAYS reflect 25 damage points back, and ALWAYS
take 75 damage to yourself.

Is this right?

Okay: Reflect Damage is as you described but only affects melee physical damage.

Reflect Spell is % to reflect the whole spell just as Absorb.
