FOV keeps resetting, how to keep?
Topic. I use console "fov 100" but everytime there is a dialogue, i swap to 3rd person etc, it resets. How do I keep fov set to 100?

Use Oblivion Reloaded or FOV Modifier mod.

I prefer not to as the game is too unstable as it is. Surely it should be possible just to tweak some .ini or something?

Not in Oblivion, you can't make it permanent without "hacks". FOV modifier should be fine, it has nothing crazy in it. I mean you can change this line in Oblivion.ini - fDefaultFOV=75, but it will quite literally break the menu buttons, probably inventory too. Try it idk.
