Bag of Holding.
Why don't you simply boost your strength though?

"Inventory is a backpack" or "Jannix Quinns Backpack"
may be the MOD wthich you looking for.

"Inventory is a backpack" http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/21721/
"Jannix.."http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/16443/
I personally don't use them by myself

Well, by definition no mod is going to be legit. If there were already purchasable fortify carry weight items, then that would be one thing. But there's not, so a backpack mod provides something that the base game does not. Also, it frees up an enchanting slot that you would otherwise use for carry weight enchants.

That said, I use backpack mods all the time for immersion purposes.

Just get Feather enchantments and be done with it. Carry weight management is really easy. But sometimes there are things out of your control like your Strength value. Especially if you're a Mage or Thief archetype. At the same time, Warrior archetypes also have to deal with carrying heavy weaponry and heavy armor, so even their carry weight is very restricted at times.

Like I said, just get Strength and Feather enchantments and you should be good.

I suggest using Wyre Bash to increase the Actor Strength Encumberance Multiplier when creating your Bashed Patch.

Your encumberance will still be limited by your strength, but each point of strength will grant you more carry weight then the vanilla setting and you can set the value to whatever you think is balanced.

The default is 5. Using 8 is still pretty balanced, but I use 10 myself, which is double the vanilla value.

This tweak makes becoming overencumbered in the tutorial dungeon far less problematic.

i notice sometimes the Feather enchantments stack correctly and other times they do not, e.g. sometimes my gear allows me to carry somewhere around 640 but if for any reason i need to remove clothing and put it on again later (like starting the arena storyline or saving Henantier) then it maxes out at 430 and adding subsequent clothing items does nothing... but try again a little later and i'll get the full 640 again.

I don't exactly have that issue. Normally my Feather enchantments work just fine. Are you using the Unofficial Oblivion Patch?

There is a glitch with Feather that sometimes leaves you in weird situations.

The max amount of Feather you can have at a given time is related to how much you're actually carrying when the effect is applied. Additional Feather effects after that may have reduced or zero value. Then, if some are removed before others, possibly in a different order than they were applied, you can end up with your carried weight or carrying capacity being completely wrong. This may leave you stuck until you drop some stuff and/or all Feather effects are removed.

I notice it because I often use very strong custom Feather potions to, say, drag the loot from a whole fort of Marauders back to town to sell. If I end up using a combination of potions and spells, and something wears off at the wrong time, hilarity ensues. :steamfacepalm:

Well regardless, I tend not to have any carry weight issues, even on characters with low starting Strength. I have a code of conduct as to what I pick up and what I sell. I usually pick up as many gems and jewelry as I can and sell those. Any pieces of non-unique enchanted armor, weapons or clothing also get sold. If a weapon or armor is better than mine, I pick it up and sell the armor or weapon I had previously, and usually I tend to sell soul gems altogether because I always have Azura's Star in my inventory. If an item is unique, it usually never gets sold unless my playstyle will never use it.

no the only mod i'm using is a more-training mod, everything else is stock. the reason for the glitch is that Feather works by reducing the weight of your inventory, not by actually increasing your carry weight (Fortify Strength works in the way you'd expect Feather to - your carry weight is correctly increased, but you also gain the extra penalty to your agility and speed from the added loot, as you'd expect)

so at the end of the day, getting the full benefit of Feather can involve a fair but of unloading/re-loading and undressing/dressing to get the max effect

get alchemy up and alteration up. with alchemy you can brew potions to greatly boost carrying capacity, with alteration cast spells to boost carrying capacity. i think they stack. i was able to carry 1000 with potions and spells, for a limited time fo course, but long enough to fast travel to a city and sell the loot.

My fave, The Bag Of Holding:
'This mod will allow you to get a wondrous little bag called the "Bag of Holding", based on the famous Bag of Holding from Dungeons & Dragons. This bag allows you to store as many items as you want in it while also nullifying their weight.' And there's a quest too!
