BTW: Almost All Oblivion Vanilla Textures Replacer (AAOVTR) I grabbed before it was removed from Nexus.. there is another that appeared quite recently, you may want to grab that one BEFORE they get banned as well.. I had the author break it into parts since the 6GB file was a corrupted archive. http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/47235/? Some of those textures were of a better nature than what I had, and was available via Nexus/TES Alliance downloads. So even if you don't want to use all of those textures.. there maybe some you could use in that pack. I know I used some! :D
Just don't go over OCD on them.. I started looking at textures one at a time and comparing them with other textures from other packs. xD Watch out for the mesh folder too.. sometimes a mesh can point to a certain texture and if you didn't overwrite the textures (like I sometimes do, due to laziness) it can cause purple textures. Familiarize yourself with the directories and the files in each, it will make your life easier if something goes "funky".
Good programs to look at meshes and textures: Nifskope (the original V1, since the later versions do not allow you to set it as default for opening *.nif files) ( http://www.moddb.com/downloads/nifskope1 ) and WTV for *.dds (texture) files ( http://www.nvidia.com/object/windows_texture_viewer.html )
