Shivering isles wont start

i've played oblivion a lot over different consoles but after installing on steam its taken me a while to realise i never got the shivering isles start message. and the door in the niben bay does not appear. it is checked in my mod loader and i've used loot and obmm to sort this out. i have recently installed the unofficial shivering isles patch to see if tis helped and it didnt. i have 0 conflicting mod files so thats not causing it. anyone have any idea why KOTN loaded but SI didn't? really dont want to uninstall my game. oh and i've verified integrity of game cache.

I'm afraid the only thing I can think of is for you to reinstall the game. Take out your save game files first and put them in a safe place (they are stored in your document files under my games/Oblivion/saves) and you won't lose any game progress.

I'm not sure if I am misreading your post, but there is no start message for the Shivering Isles like the other quests you get in the sewers if that is what you meant.

You receive the message 24 ingame hours after you install the DLC or start a new game, but it can take up to three game days.

thats the start message i was talking about. the quest pop up. its been 11 in game days on my game and i still havent got it.

First make sure that the esp is checked and activated by selecting data files instead of play. You can also do this using your mod manager.

You can try restarting the Shivering Isles DLC using the following method.

Open up the data files and uncheck the Shivering Isles box, launch your game and once ingame save the game. Exit and reopen data files and recheck the SI DLC.

When you reload the save that you made Shivering Isles will be treated as reinstalled and in a new state. This will not affect your game or progress outside of the Shivering Isles. Then you just wait 24-72 hours again and see if you get the message. You can also use the wait command to more quickly test if it worked or not.

If you don't get the message then you can try using console commands.

right thanks. yeah the door in niben bay isnt even appearing so for some reason its just not loading. ill try that out.

its ticked, i have goty edition, but for some reason the game acts as if i havent got it installed.

what about a save with the Shivering Isles unlocked that should work and well. You would have to figure out how to get the char to start over for the races.

Have you tried verifying the game cache?

dont worry i fixed it. i deactivated all my mods and dlc apart from shivering isles and loaded the game. it didnt work so i reactivated everything and then it worked. colour me confused but its working.

I know this is an old post and all but I seem to have the same problem as well. I've been playing for a couple of 'in-game days' and it hasn't appeared yet. I don't have any mods that should conflict with it and I've got GOTY deluxe edition (guess I got a couple more dlcs with that).

Anyone who has any clue what to do?
