Best graphics/lighting overhauls for Oblivion?
Been wanting to go back and play Oblivion through since I've never actually given it a real chance, but after playing Skyrim w/ ENB + all the other graphics mods I don't think I can handle Oblivion's extremely dated graphics. I know that there is also an ENB for Oblivion, but from what I understand it is extremely unstable and mainly intended for screenshot artists.

Can anyone give me some opinions on what are the best graphical and/or lighting overhauls for this game? Even vanilla skyrim-equivalent graphics would be acceptable - I really just can't deal with the downright ugly distant textures and whatnot in Oblivion

I highly recommend OBGE Core, OBGE Standalone Effects (CrysisDOF, Volumetric SSAO, Godrays) OBGE Liquid Water (the ONLY water mod to use IMHO) and OBGE Physically Correct Sky (if it will work for you). This combo is an amazing aesthetic upgrade even with just vanilla textures.

QarlsTexturePack 3 - there are Reduced and Redimized versions if your rig isnt beefy enough
Bomrets Shivering Isle Texture Pack;
Improved (anything) by Mikal33;
The Imperial Ecology or Verdant Anthesis or Fantasmagoria Flora by discovery1
Ecology for a Mad God by discovery1 (for SI)
RS-ultra realistic and shafty sunglare (bright sun lens effect option) by mr.sandman
Book Jackets Oblivion Hi Res;
Mikes Clothes Replacer;
Black Glass Armor & Weapons;
and/or Clear Glass Armor Fixed 17095
Slof's Oblivion Robe Trader : get this one from fileplanet.com
Oblivion Character Overhaul ver2 (req's Blockhead) or OCO v1
Detailed Terrain - needs OBMM to install
Insanity's Improved Armoury Compilation - DL from TES Alliance
Weather-All Natural; Immersive Interiors; Animated Window Lighting System-AWLS;
These 3 mods work together IF you have WryeBash for the Bash Patch. Its an amazing immersive experience. I recommend choosing 80% darker nights no blue tint and default windows. All Natural has Real Lights included. Also Immersive Interiors -Bravil and Leyawiin; and Immersive Interiors Landscape add-on.
Theres also several Landscape LOD mods I havent tried, including RAEVWD.

Except as noted - all mods and utilities available at The Nexus

I highly recommend using WryeBash + BOSS, using OBMM only when you have to. WB is now quite easy to use and does so much more than any other mod managing utility.

There might be conflicts between ENB and OBGE.
thank you!

I would look through the Step Project recommendations for texture mods. Many of the mods listed above are part of the step project.
