Two handed weapons suck
Is there a mod to make them worth using?
Right now they barely do more dmg, barely have more reach than a 1h longsword (if at all), and have the downside of less armor and a worse block.

Yes. See my excellent mod guide.

That could be because of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ level scaling that they don't do as much damage as you want.

To be honest, every weapons in this game suck, with the exception of fist and bow. There are absolutely no reason to use melee weapons over spell.

It takes hours to kill a thing,
You have to repair the weapons,
And of course recharge it too.

Sure, you can cast a buff spell on yourself and make yourself do more damage, but why not just cast powerful spell on enemies instead?

100 Blade skill = 100 sword hits to kill Jyggalag.
100 Destruction skill = Cast Damage Fatigue once, and Jyggalag becomes Jyggalagdoll.

I never had a problem with a single hand weapon, I prefer the one sword and shield.. mostly the bow and arrow.. I bounce back and forth.

Custom enchanted weapons can have the same effects as custom spells, and weapons aren't affected by spell effectiveness, so you can wear armor at the same time.

Add soul trap to its effects and you'll never run out of charges, unlike magicka.
