Request to add Achievements
Dear Oblivion fans!
If you enjoy this game, please take part in asking Bethesda to add Steam achievements.

It could be done via official Bethesda site [help.bethesda.net].

More about Oblivion achievements that already exist in Xbox 360 version of the game and about submitting feedback to Bethesda you may find in the following guide.

Have you seen the achievements? Most players will get them all in a single play through without even trying.

Have you done the guild quests and main quests before? Then you've got all the achievements. Congratulations, pat yourself on the back, you have achieved oblivion 100%.

I believe there is no real problem. This could be done real quick. But they have to assign someone to do this, that's the real problem.

I've been thinking that maybe they would add achievements if there was some new DLC. Here comes the long chain of thinking and "if's" - new DLC was announced for Portal, it's featuring RTX. NVIDIA has announced a new tool recently that helps mod old games to add RTX in them (sort of). If that will be a thing in the future and developers start releasing RTX DLCs for their old games, maybe we have hope for achievements, they could be released along with DLC. As you can see it's a lot of "if's".

These so-called "achievements" in video-games are nothing of the sort.

In Oblivion - yes, I agree. They are just milestones in quest completion.
It doesn't hurt to have them anyway.

Just remake it along with Morrowind and Skyrim in the VI engine and release an epic mega-collection. Everyone has been asking for a remaster or remake long before it was a trend lol.

Or just releasing the sixth installment of the franchise without making people wait more than 11 years?

The achievements are basically the different faction ranks you get from advancing through the various guilds and quests, as well as beating specific quests.

Achievements communicate how you're supposed to play the game and this can affect the experience in a negative way

I disagree. It's your game and you can play it how you like. Many games have achievements that you can unlock only in several playthroughs. There are plenty of players who can spend hundreds and thousands of hours in a game without even looking at achievements.

This is by far the worst take I have ever heard in the "Achievements yes/no" discussion.

It's very simple:
Don't like achievements? Don't do them.

This thread is for people who are interested in getting achievements added to the game. You don't have to agree. If they're not for you, okay. Feel free to ignore them if they ever get added.
