Could use some help installing the Unofficial Oblivion Patch (UOP)
If anyone is willing to help out, that would be much appreciated!
I will try to explain my current situation as clearly as possible, hoping to receive an answer that will be clear to me as well.

I'm modding Oblivion using the Bevi Lex modlist, which is just a collection of specific mods aimed to improve the game's graphics. I am using a video tutorial as my guide. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHLBtq_TJiU to be specific.

Currently I am in part 2 of the video tutorial and I'm trying to install the Unoficcial Oblivion Patch (UOP).
As advised in the video tutorial, I am using Wrye Bash (WB) to do this.
I dragged the .zip file of the UOP into the Installers tab, now all I have to do is right click on it, and select install to actually install the patch.

During installation I get this error:
----------
Unofficial Oblivion Patch-5296-3-5-5.7z: Extraction failed:
7z.exe return value: 2
Sub items Errors: 2670

Archives with Errors: 1

Sub items Errors: 2670
----------
And the installation is cancelled.

Does anyone know a fix?

During the video tutorial I also had to download Oblivion Mod Manager (OMM). I read on other threads that I should be able to use this program for the installation as well. But for some reason the video guide uses WB.
Should I give OMM a try? If so, how?

I also had to download BOSS for the sorting order of the files, because apparently that is important, and BOSS sorts everything in the correct order for you. However I integrated BOSS in Wrye Bash. If I should OMM for the installation, how should I use BOSS afterwards?

Any help is very much appreciated, I'd really love to replay this game with better graphics!

BOSS can be used independantly, which is how I used it back when Skyrim released in the day. I use LOOT for Skyrim now, but BOSS is better for Oblivion, as is WB/OBMM since most mods (old) were written with those MM in mind and not MO/NMM. I install a lot of mods manually for Oblivion, I use WB for Bashed/Manual sorting, and OBMM for *.omod installs like Quarl's. I then use TESEdit to check for any mod conflicts and attempt repairs for said conflicts, either by making compatibily patches or adding forms to existing *esps/*esms. OBMM also is necessary for BSA redirection, which makes texture mods that use BSA's show up "in game".

Thanks for the tips Alkpaz.

I still don't know how to install the UOP though. I've read various ways to install it. Some of those tell me to first extract the files. But even that won't work.
Winrar says the files are corrupt, and 7zip gives me tons of errors as well. But I downloaded the patch from here:
https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/5296/?tab=files
Everyone refers to this page. Why does my download turn out corrupt? D:

if the archive itself is corrupted, you're just going to need another one

as for installing the UOP, or any mod for that matter, you can use mod managers; drag and drop into wrye bash, use OBMM to create an .OMOD from the UOP archive, drag and drop into mod organizer if you're feeling lucky

or you can just extract the contents into the game data, but you'll still want to use wrye bash to activate the corresponding .esp

Try using this link: https://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/files/file/1022-unofficial-oblivion-patch/

AFK mods is owned by Arthmoor, the maker of the Unofficial patches.

As for installing the UOP you can do it manually, just enable the *.esps in a MM.

Thanks for your help guys,
Apparently the nexusmods download is just broken.
I found another one here https://www.gamepressure.com/download.asp?ID=60787
which seems to work for me.
I installed it with WryeBash easily.
I guess I could've figured this out myself, however since I saw everyone referring to the nexusmods link I thought it just had to work, and that I was doing something wrong.
