[FIXED] Options in Launcher greyed out on Steam Deck

[old]I've downloaded the game, it opens the launcher but all the options are greyed out except for the elderscrolls website link and Exit? This is verified so i'm kinda confused why it isn't working automatically?

[New]I figured out the issue and fixed it! Uninstall Oblivion and delete it's compatdata folder, then install a game that installs DirectX during the first-time setup after hitting Play! I installed Monster Hunter Stories 2 Trial Version bc it was small and free, but any game that installs DirectX correctly will work. Then, reinstall Oblivion and it'll install DirectX correctly and the game will run perfectly (besides a weird controller setup, but that's an easy fix lol)

Not a Steam Deck issue. This is a common problem. Use the search bar next to the new post button to find other posts about it.

im also having this issue. not seeing fixes after searching other discussions? maybe im missing something? ive reinstalled and tried all versions of proton

Yeah, none of the launch commands worked for me. I do believe it has to do with DirectX not being installed properly by Oblivion. Currently, I'm installing another game (Civ V) which should hopefully install DirectX correctly, which should allow for Oblivion to work, maybe?

I'm not sure, I'll comment again if it does. In any case, this game shouldn't be Verified if it doesn't install properly, wtf. Verified program looking like a 🤡 once again

Didn't work. Gonna try to add the registry keys like a post on Reddit mentioned, but i'll have to figure out how to work the terminal (hoping it's something like the command prompt from windows).

Agreed that is super obnoxious. Oblivion is literally one of the main reasons I got steam deck and it not working by default is a let down

i don't know what to do anymore iv tried deleting oblivion or deleting the compatdata folder and installed and launched hunter stories 2 trial but still no results what am i doing wrong anyone get it working?

OK! i figured it out. Go to settings then properties and in Launch options type PROTON_SET_GAME_Drive=1 %command% then it should work! This took me forever to find a answer!

This Didn’t work, do i need anything else downloaded? My Deck is completely stock i literally bought it hours ago and just trying to play oblivion. Any help is good thanks
