Oblivion.esm (Master File)

I've been playing for over 120 hours now and just installed a mod (some interesting weapons) and I noticed that the title file was unchecked in the list of .esm. This is the GOTY edition recently purchased here with all the DLC from years past.

I haven't noticed any problems but I was wondering why what appears to be the main game file doesn't seem to be necessary.

You just don't need to check it. The file is automatically loaded when you run the game.

Ah, thanks. I tried running the game with that file checked and didn't notice any difference anyway. Why have it there if it isn't needed? Perhaps it's a relic of an earlier build before all the DLCs were made available.
