The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Invisibility is Broken Ahaha
At least in Fallout, the Stealth Boys require people to be sneaking and be a bit far from enemies to not be detected (and it only lasts a few minutes). Here it can theoretically last forever and I can avoid almost any battle and confrontation. I've managed to do a shrine quest that would've been impossible normally for me otherwise. It involved killing a bunch of necromancers in a cave but there were also skeleton champions, faded wraiths, zombies, ghosts, and lices. To be honest, I also used the enchanted weapons and staffs the necromancers had cause mine weren't charged enough. Also they had a crap ton of potions which ofc I used some and sold the rest.

Not only theoretically. You can enchant your armor with 100% chameleon which will give you a permanent 100% invisibility.

It's obviously not fun to play the game while being 100% invisible, but it's up to you to decide how strong/weak your character should be.

well actually I find it personally fun because I like how the NPCs behave when I suddenly vanish in front of them.

I think it is really boring after finding out how to do this without cheating by Level 10.
Fun for a while then spoilt the game for me.
Did not play again for about a year it was just too easy.
Nowadays I just ignore the fact I could do it.
I was only able to get invisibility spell in these past few days, so only after level 25. I'm level 29 right now about to go to level 30 soon.

It's almost as if it's magic
but other seemingly powerful spells aren't as broken

I think it's not just Invisibility, the whole school of Illusion feels immensely overpowered at the higher levels. Charm, for example, completely obviates the need for Persuasion. And with Invisibility and Chameleon, you won't need any thieving or combat skills because you'll be able to breeze through any dungeon without fighting. Even if you need the loot – say, those bandits' nice armour, then you can just cast Command on half of them and then stand at the side and watch them pound each other to mush. Only Paralyze feels balanced, and that's because of its extremely high magicka cost.
mysticism has very good spells but theyre balanced so theyre not OP, or theyre locked to much higher skill categories like expert.

Ah yes, someone who has never played either of the three originals and never will.

One second paralysis = infinite paralysis...
Just saying.
why do people that I blocked keep responding to my threads? like unless I go out of my way to view what they write (which I 99% usually won't) they're pretty much replying to themselves.

well in theory lol
The lowest cost level Detect life is a counter to invisibility of any level. just ask any poor vampire crusader bastard whos tried to sneak up on me.....oh wait.

and just for reference, FO3 and FO4 Stealth can be broken dependant on what you wear.
Chinese Stealth Suit = Walk up to things. Silver Shroud Upgraded Suit: Heavy Armor with no stealth penalty.
