Launcher Loop?

So I've deleted the INIs in both installation directory and mygames/documentary. I've verified the files, and I've launched it from the installation directory. If I launch Oblivion.exe is just opens the launcher, and if I open the game through the launcher, it just goes back to the launcher.

Did anyone ever find a fix for this? Installed this a few days ago and it worked for a few times, but now its just caught in an endless loop of the launcher.

i just reinstalled it 3 times in the row - oblivion, then mod. It worked, but i got an another issue mheh

I am not using any mods. Just trying to play base game. It worked the first day I installed it, but since then i cannot get past the launcher. I've requested multiple refunds but because i put in more than 2hrs the first day I had the game I get an automatic response from steam denying my request. When I go through steam support to troubleshoot the game I get the response that they do not own the game and therefore cannot assist with any technical issues. I keep searching for ways to speak to someone, but the only way is through opening a ticket, and all of mine keep getting auto denied.

Ok, try to delete oblivion.ini in documents\mygames\oblivion, then set compatibility mode for both launcher and oblivion exe, both are xp sp3. Mb this will help

Also, run them as an administrator

and I installed the game on 3 pcs first on win 7 when the game came out then win 10 and now win 11. game still runs.

neither steam nor the game installer nor the game make any changes to windows security.

check antivirus log? might be blocking game/game launcher.
check windows security/controlled folder access. if on add exceptions for game launcher/game.

game launcher needs to create folder
Documents\My Games\Oblivion
folder should contain files oblivion.ini rendererinfo.txt blendsettings.ini and after game starts your saves folder.

if these files are missing also besides no saves
running windows one drive? one drive moves the ini files to the one drive.
tweak one drive to leave the files in the original folder.
do a web search with topic "windows one drive stop folder syncing" -
many instructions on how to set it up.

mods? mods cause all kinds of issues. try to get game running first WITHOUT mods.
