Moving Oblivion+Mods to Another Hard Drive. Does it Work?

So I just installed a new m.2 ssd in my system specifically for games. I moved most games over without issue, but I have yet to try it with oblivion as its heavily modded and I'm not sure how it will be treated in the move.

Can someone tell me if the mods will be moved with the game using the "move install folder" feature in steam? I don't want to be in a position where it only moves the game and leaves the mods behind, wrecking my playthrough.

Also will anything else be messed up in the move, such as saves or settings?

it depends.

For example, I need to copy:

d:\Games\Oblivion\ (for non-steam version)
or d:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion\ (for Steam, usually)
(Main game folder)

d:\Documents\My Games\Oblivion\
(configuration file and saves)

d:\Games\Oblivion Mods\
(mod installers and configurations for mod manager)

c:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Oblivion\
(not important, I believe. Some tools for Oblivion can use this folder to store plugins list and settings).

Since "Documents" folder and "AppData" path will not change, in your case, you need to move only the Oblivion folder (or the whole Steam folder, if needed) and it should work fine.
If you will replace SSD where saves and Oblivion.ini are stored (Documents\My Games\) then you should move them to new location, obviously

I'd advise you to make a new steam library on your other drive and then reinstall Oblivion there.

It's important to note that your Oblivion.ini has to be deleted to be remade.
