The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Game of the Year Edition (2009)

Getting past reflact/absorb spells.
I'm playing as a mage. I was abble to fireball my way through most of the foes on the earlier levels. Hovever, later on the liches started appearing. So my question is: can you remove their anti-magical deffence via dispel others spell? If so, what is the magnitude required?

If you mean take away the reflect and absorb ability that can't be done without adjusting the spells with the Construction Set.

Liches do tend to be a mage-bane. I don't often go full mage personally, more of a spellsword style, but conjured weapons should still be viable to deal physical damage to a lich in a magical way. You can also bump up your own reflection or absorption abilities to make them less of a problem for you. Conjuration also has the option of summoning companions to fight for you that could deal physical damage to the lich while also most likely pulling aggro so you can hide in a corner and let your summon handle the fight, replacing them as needed (chameleon seriously helps with the hiding in a corner approach).

the real fix is changing their constant spell effects, adding some new spells for them to cast and tweaking ai package so they actually have to cast their protections instead of having what is essentially infinite magical resistance

that way you could cast dispel on them... its actually very easy to fix so i upload to nexus and post a link on steam forum

i just checked lich in tes4edit, by default they have 25% magic resistance with 100% frost resistance, frost spells arent the way to go for certain

they have 25% spell-reflect & absorb but also have 25% weakness to fire, paired with 25% magic resistance they basically take normal damage from fire, kill them with fire and make sure to take resist magic/fire potions incase they reflect it back

Dispel doesn't work against constant effects as far as I know

umm, i think i recall using a high magnitude aoe fireball spell. spellcrafted to pump it up and dont shoot directly at the lich, just let the explosion hurt him.

i recall it not going well though. ended up using a bow/sword or conjure creatures.

Sooner or later. Every player hits a wall if they focus on just one skill

In this case. If you're insistant on playing as purely a mage, you may want to invest in...

Conjuration spells. In this case vs liches you wanna pick aggro ones who will get in their face and not use spells. Dremora, skeletons, zombies and clanfears are a strong but non exhaustive list.

Restoration. Custom buff skills can be powerful. Give yourself +100 sword skill or more if you wish. Not to mention health or stat buffs.

Alteration for shields to cheaply protect against elemental damage. Use the feather spell Pack Mule to run like the wind. (And carry 250 more weight of equipment)

Illusion. Can't hit what they can't see.

Honestly, I play a mage and am able to kill them without problems. Make sure your spells are strong enough for the level you are playing at. Have self made restore health and magicka potions on hand. Level alchemy early and often and get the best gear you can. By level 17 if not sooner I recommend sigil stones with fortify magicka and putting that in most of your gear. Save before grabbing and reload until you get the right one. It adds up to +450 if you put it in all your armor and jewelry at level 17.

The Reflect/Absorb are a Creature Ability, you can't Dispel Abilities.
You can Command their undead summon, or Turn Undead to neuter it. High Melee DPS summons help you out (Clannfear, Daedroth).
Bow and Arrow are kinda bad in vanilla, but they do quite well against Liches and other slow mage-trolling enemies. The Paralyze and Knockdown effects are applied via script, not magic/enchantment, so they won't bounce at you.

Spam a Disarm power attack with Blade or Blunt; Lich do not have an unarmed attack animation and literally stand there doing nothing if their staff is removed. Corrode Weapon works too but obviously runs a backfire risk if you are armed; Staves have low item health.

For Command / Turn Undead approach, I believe the strongest Undead Summon a Lich can pull is Skeleton Champion, which is Level 17; so a Command/Turn Undead of at least Level 17 with 100% spell effectiveness is all you need. A level 17 Command spell will also control a Clannfear or Daedroth summon as well; fun to use vs Xivali.

I just stab them, honestly, or use Shadow Shape and avoid the bother. I think Dawnfang/Duskfang ignore Reflect/Absorb checks because of the Nourish Blade effect (used for the attached script) but I'm not 100% sure on that.
