that way you could cast dispel on them... its actually very easy to fix so i upload to nexus and post a link on steam forum
they have 25% spell-reflect & absorb but also have 25% weakness to fire, paired with 25% magic resistance they basically take normal damage from fire, kill them with fire and make sure to take resist magic/fire potions incase they reflect it back
i recall it not going well though. ended up using a bow/sword or conjure creatures.
In this case. If you're insistant on playing as purely a mage, you may want to invest in...
Conjuration spells. In this case vs liches you wanna pick aggro ones who will get in their face and not use spells. Dremora, skeletons, zombies and clanfears are a strong but non exhaustive list.
Restoration. Custom buff skills can be powerful. Give yourself +100 sword skill or more if you wish. Not to mention health or stat buffs.
Alteration for shields to cheaply protect against elemental damage. Use the feather spell Pack Mule to run like the wind. (And carry 250 more weight of equipment)
Illusion. Can't hit what they can't see.
You can Command their undead summon, or Turn Undead to neuter it. High Melee DPS summons help you out (Clannfear, Daedroth).
Bow and Arrow are kinda bad in vanilla, but they do quite well against Liches and other slow mage-trolling enemies. The Paralyze and Knockdown effects are applied via script, not magic/enchantment, so they won't bounce at you.
Spam a Disarm power attack with Blade or Blunt; Lich do not have an unarmed attack animation and literally stand there doing nothing if their staff is removed. Corrode Weapon works too but obviously runs a backfire risk if you are armed; Staves have low item health.
For Command / Turn Undead approach, I believe the strongest Undead Summon a Lich can pull is Skeleton Champion, which is Level 17; so a Command/Turn Undead of at least Level 17 with 100% spell effectiveness is all you need. A level 17 Command spell will also control a Clannfear or Daedroth summon as well; fun to use vs Xivali.
I just stab them, honestly, or use Shadow Shape and avoid the bother. I think Dawnfang/Duskfang ignore Reflect/Absorb checks because of the Nourish Blade effect (used for the attached script) but I'm not 100% sure on that.
