Poisoned Apple Help
I planted a poison apple on an npc, removed all food from their house, and even killed the person living with them, and waited 3 days, and they didnt die. (P.S. i had already waited 2 days before i killed the roomate)

Who's your target? Some npcs are simply unkillable.
That said after way too many hours playing this game I've never been patient enough to get the apples to work.
Also according to the uesp wiki some killable characters either never eat anything, or magically get other food so they don't eat the apple.

It Was an Orc, named... idk... should I just pick a random npc and do the apple thing, then just leave for ages and do something else and come back one day?

Here's my experience with the poison apples:
I tried to dispatch the Draconis (family) Drunken Dragon Inn keeper. I dropped an apple right on the bar counter in front of him. Waited a for a while but no joy. I waited some more, and the guy just dropped to the floor behind the bar. On closer inspection, he was just sleeping there. Later he disappeared from the bar altogether. I then found him sleeping again, but this time in his bed upstairs.

I Binged for some hints online, but I couldn't remove the other food items from the room because the guard kept nicking me for taking stuff. I even tried to move the stuff (using the z key) by dropping it off the back stair. The Guard still thought I was stealing on each third move (shrug).

I also tried a reverse pickpocket while he was sleeping in his room. I gave up. I slit his throat instead.

If you must, the two fellows in the "Abandoned Shack" are easy targets. I killed them entirely by accident on a previous play through.

It depends on them having an eating package as part of their AI. Most do and at set times each day they will start doing the eating animation to occur when they are at work, a tavern or at home. Even though not eating cannot kill an NPC their AI will make them search for food when the eating schedule starts and if there is no food in the immediate vicinity they will start walking to the nearest source of food which can include using doors to enter other cells. The lower an NPCs responsibility the more likely they are to resort to crime in order to obtain food and fulfil the AI package which is when they can fall foul of city guard if the crime is witnessed by an NPC with high enough responsibility to report the crime. They cannot fulfil the AI package if they have no edible items in their inventory or access to food and when that happens they can glitch out and start walking in to walls. Some NPCs are scripted to always have food in their inventory so are unlikely to ever consume anything given to them but they still need food in their inventory even though they never consume it. In other words, all NPCs need food in their inventory to start eating and drinking but don't necessarily consume anything in their inventory so in those cases putting a poisoned apple in their inventory isn't going to have any effect even though they still need that apple (or any food item) in their inventory to start the eating animation.

In-game type in the console: coc emiltest

This is where the poisoned apple was tested but I can't get it to work. The female NPC in the room has one eating package which is midday for one hour but nothing happens and there's no eating animation.
