Weird sound stutter when strafing

Hi dear Oblivion Community!

So I bought the game to see what can I get out of it in terms of graphics and gameplay. The short answer (like in any similar case) is that I somewhat broke -part of- it :D

It's a weird audio bug, when I'm moving to the left or to the right or diagonally, so basically whenever I'm pressing my A or D keys, the audio starts stuttering. I started to remove mods of course, then ended up reinstalling the whole game four times (with clean installs, clearing save folders, cache rtc.), but still couldn't manage to come closer to the solution.

Have you deleted the configuration settings in the Documents/My Games/Obilivion folder?

Yes I have, and some files from the appdata folder as well, so afaik I have uninstalled everything. Since then, I tried configurating the Oblivion ini file and read that somewhere that the Stutter Fix mod caused similar problems, but with Vanilla Oblivion, it hardly could be the problem.

So it seems like my computer just decided to ♥♥♥♥ up the game's audio, guess I will have to play like this :D

Was helping a friend with another game about a week back that many have a problem with sound issues and we discovered that it was due to a Windows profile setting for the game. The only time the settings can be seen or adjusted is while the game is open, Alt+Tab out then right click on the speaker icon at the bottom right. That said it may not help your issue since it only does that when using the A and D keys but its something to try. I would also try re-installing DirectX and if that doesn't work try this guide for a clean install of it.
