Unable to load saves, need help

I was playing Oblivion as usual, and entered a fort location (can't check exactly which one right now). Once I was in some animations stopped working; like doors not doing their opening animation and being stuck, or when I would cast a spell on myself the glow surrounding me would never go away. Then after some minutes I tried to load a quicksave and my game crashed. I can't load any saves near this locations, and my previous save slot before this was a good 30 hours of gameplay away. Tried running it in windowed, fullscreen and disabiling visual screen effects, and nothing works. I even tried with the Oblivion Unoffical Patch but it still doesn't work. I'm not sure if the save is corrupted because it just crashes when the loading screen appears. What can I do to fix this?

maybe your preference files got corrupted in the crash. go to folder
Documents\My Games\Oblivion
delete the BlendSettings.ini Oblivion.ini and RendererInfo.txt files.
game will recreate them when you next start the game.

I deleted those files but I'm still unable to load the saves. Thanks still.

try steam verify game files.

verified the files and it says it's fine. Only mod I have is the Oblivion Unofficial Patch.

save is trash probably. use an older save.,

save often and always keep a few handy in case the game crashes and you loose everything. do not overwrite files. always create a new save. you can delete the ones at the bottom to make room. I had the same problem. I lost many hours of progress. sometimes the quests will glitch and you have to go back anyway. a good elder scrolls player will always be prepared for bugs , glitches , and crashes. anticipate them. prepare
