Distant view
Hi! I'm trying to enhance the distant view.

Firstly i like to check the maximum distant land possible with the only purposes of landscape view, panoramic screnshoot etc, so basically some ini tweaks or mods that allow me to see all the map or near all, and not only 10-20 cells. Fps and performance dont matter in this case.

Secondly I really would like to play with a "decent" distant land in my gameplay, so a bit more distant and with more objects loaded, but without lowering extremely my fps.

I'm going to try this https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/20053/?

But seems a better option to my second perspective, you know, still we can't see further than the Imperial City from Cyrodiil borders.

Some ideas to see all the map from the heights? And some alternative to "Really AEVWD" for a true gameplay or it's the best option?

Ok so far I did this:

1. I installed "Really AEVWD" mod.

2. I changed some things in ini file, to these valours:

uGridDistantTreeRange=30
uGridDistantCount=50
uGridsToLoad=9

fObjectLODMax= 30
fItemLODMax= 30
fActorLODMax= 30

3. I used the console command: setfog 1 1000000, to disable the fog totally.

With these views from above the imperial city:

Looking South

We can see Bravil and Leyawiin, among other places.

East

With Cheyndinhal.

North

We can see Bruma and the Cloud Ruler Temple.

Looking west

Chorrol, Skingrad and Kvatch

The screenshots are taken from very height, 200 meters over white tower and 400 over imperial city more or less, so the distant land is not very detailed in the lowest nearest lands, the views are better walking normally.

Still very bad distant view, I'll try some other tweaks.

For best experience, you need to run the TES4LodGen after installing REAVWD. Keep in mind that if you installed ALL the options for REAVWD, you might notice an drop of ~5 to 12 FPS from your normal FPS (depending on camera position and mods installed ofc.)

Also, if you really want gorgeous distant land, TES4LL distant land generator is a must, IMO :)

Also, I wouldn't recommend messing too much with the uGridToLoad parameter... it causes more bugs than it's worth it... that parameter just control the number of "active" cells around your character, as in, the cells that are FULLY loaded. Of course, YMMV and it depends on strenght of each rig... but I wouldn't recommend to play the game with that param set to >5.

Here are all the links:

TES4Edit -> nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/11536, and rename TES4Edit.exe to TES4LODGEN.exe
TE4LL -> nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/40549

TES4LL can also generate distant land textures too and respect your mod load order, so if you have mods that alter the landscape (like ULs or Elsweyr) they'll be present in the generated distant landscape.

EDIT: This is how it looks in my game when I disable the FpsManager in Oblivion Reloaded and max out visibility settings:

Of course, I can't play like that... I only get ~13 FPS :D So, Oblivion Reloaded Fps Manager is a must for me :)

Yes I already run the TES4LodGen, and I notice the fps drop but to be honest I remember playing Oblivion with far less fps years ago haha and I'm not interested in play with +80 fps. With +40 fps in exteriors is enough to me playing Oblivion, specially after to mod the game a lot. With my current configuration I have 35-60 fps, with 45 fps most time, but I imagine that after mod the game the fps will drop significantly. The try of the maximum distant land possible is simply to see the landscape and to take some screenshots, but after install many mods I suppose that I'll play with a lower distant land, and with some fog too (maybe 1 100000 or less).

As you said uGridToLoad is very unstable, I had CTDs every few minutes and there are some bugs too, so I already turned to vanilla setting.

I'm going to install tes4ll-v5 now to see the difference, thanks for the advice!

Also set the treeload in a good way.
I use
uGridDistantTreeRange=30
uGridDistantCount=50

Dunno if its needed when using Really AEVWD. Also, there is some colourwheel patches that will make Really AEVWD a bit better.
