Way to deactivate Skill up sound?
Is there a way to disable, remove or delete the "skill up" sound? I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate this sound.

I think the file you're looking for is called ui_stats_skillup.wav

All you need to do is make sure you have the following file structure:

Oblivion\Data\Sound\FX\UI

Then add a silent .wav in there with the correct name above. (original is 3 seconds)

I tested it with a random short sound clip and it worked no problem.

Check the folder Oblivion > Data > Music > Special for a file called 'success'. This is the skill up sound and is an MP3 file so you can play it from that folder. Rename it to something like successzzz so the game can't find it. There shouldn't be any problems doing this but if there are you can just change it back to success.

If you want to change it to a sound effect of your own rename the MP3 file to success and put it in that folder.

Thanks buddy, but that's the total "you leveled up" sound effect, a tleast im rid of this one.
But the one i meant is that short drum sound, that comes wehen you leveled up light armor skill for example. It comes together with a short message in the upper left corner.

that's the one i'm searching for

Ah I know the one you mean and I can't find it anywhere in the whole Oblivion folder. Like a brief drum roll and tamborine. I did a wildcard search of all MP3 files using the search tearm *.mp3 and set it to smallest file size first because such a short sound effect will only be a few kilobytes but can't find it.

I've always found it a useful sound effect because I never notice the onscreen notification that a skill has increased a level. As it doesn't seem to be a file you can remove see if changing the volume controls helps as you can make the music louder than sound effects to drown it out.

To be honest, i just found the CD and want it to play for nostalgia reasons. So i installed a power level mod, and i hear that sound like every 20 seconds, because acrobatics or athletics increased.
